Pomegranate is loaded with disease-fighting antioxidants and this powder gives my smoothies a nice, natural fruity flavor. It mixes very easily, leaving no grit at all and at 55 cents per serving this is a very good value for pure, finely ground Pomegranate powder.
This organic pomegranate powder is pretty decent. I sprinkle some on yogurt and it tastes good. It has a nice pomegranate flavor as expected. However, when I mix it into water, it is weak and tastes more like a flavored water. I have to triple the recommended amount of powder in order to get a decent taste. Also, it doesn't dissolve completely and ends up with some settlements at the bottom. This comes in a plastic jar with a scoop in it. It's only half full when I opened it. Mine has a best before date of just over 2 years from now. The only ingredient is organic pomegranate powder. Overall, this is pretty decent. It is okay as a drink when I add 2-3 scoops to it. I like it better as a powder over yogurt and such. Anyway, it is a healthy powder loaded with powder antioxidants. I quite like it.
This is not a substitute for pomegranate juice, if you like to drink it, or add it to cocktails, whatever. It doesn't dissolve in that way and the flavor is very mild. But if you like to add it to smoothies with other powders, or sprinkle on foods, it's clearly high quality and an easy way to get some unusually good antioxidant benefits. The container is small, so the price is fairly high, but it is hard to obtain.
This is really good and the only issue was that it was extremely difficult to open the container. I used the powder in my morning smoothie and I love the exotic (to me) grenadine flavor. I tasted the dry powder and it has a sweet sour flavor and a true pomegranate taste and the only ingredient is pure pomegranate juice
I received the Nutricost Organic Pomegranate Powder 8oz - USDA Certified Organic Freeze-Dried Pomegranate Powder (8 Ounces) in exchange for this review. This is a freeze-dried powdered fruit. Since it is finely powdered, you can make a juice-like beverage from it. They say to add 1 scoop to 8-12 ounces of water for this beverage. I found that with 1 scoop to 8 ounces, it was quite weak, but when I added a second scoop it was tasty. I have also found it great as an added flavor in my smoothies or stirred into plain yogurt for a fruity, but lower sugar treat.
This has a tangy pomegranate taste but is very hard to mix. It clumps up and clings to the glass. It is pure pomegranate powder and has great health benefits just hard to work with. I would have liked to have given five star but couldn't because of it being so hard to mix.
The powder on its own does taste like tangy pomegranate. It's really good on yogurt and ice cream. It's also good in buttercream frosting. If you mix it into liquid, as suggested on the jar, it's not so good. It doesn't dissolve easily and it takes a whole lot of powder to get a pomegranate flavor, much more than the single scoop recommended on the jar. The jar was about half full. It comes with a scoop, but the scoop handle is so long it's hard to get it back in the jar. The jar I received in August 2021 expires in October 2023.
This 8 ounce jar of organic pomegranate powder tastes like I expected. It's best on other foods rather than as a juice. It dissolves fine in liquid, but it turns into hard chunks if it simply gets moist (like if it's open in a humid room). Unfortunately, the jar that it comes in does not appear to be airtight. After a day of being opened for the first time, humidity still got into the jar and was starting to make it clump. This doesn't happen in an airtight jar, so we transferred it to a better jar. We are satisfied with the actual pomegranate powder and appreciate that it is certified organic.
I had higher hopes with this product. First it would take way more than recommended to get a decent flavor, second, some of it doesn't dissolve all the way. I would not repurchase this product. Great idea and concept, but not worth the value in my opinion.
I was really excited to try this pomegranate powder, but it turned into an awful experience. The container is really hard to get into, the paper seal doesn't peel off and I had to use a knife to get into this product. Once I opened it the included picture is what I saw, just large clumps with very little powder even with the silica packet. I did manage to scoop some out after scraping it off of a clump and I put it into a bottle with water and shook it. It didn't dissolve it all, just remained in clumps. I ended up dumping it down the drain and throwing the container in the trash.
