Bella Mae seems to really love this new food. The wet food have does not have any offensive odor when I open the little serving size packs! The dry food is more expensive, however, she does like it better.
This is better in quality than the other brands considered 'upper level'. It would be a five star in its class, four or five over all options considered. Last I read, it had the lowest detectable Glyphosate of those tested (Health Research Institute ISO/IEC 17025) apart from two other very spendy options. To do better would be considerably more for the few brands that apparently have not to had any Bayer Corporation's carcinogenic and endocrine disruptors in them, so it's been my go-to for years. Of course corporations can and do change formulas and recipes with little or no notice, so check into such information to stay current until it's to the point of simply making one's own pet food at home. Until then: Recommended.
After trying different brands, my dog prefers the Nutro chicken and rice. I'm happy with the nutritious content for my dog.
Our dog is very picky but he loves this brand in wet and dry. We feel very lucky to have found it.
We started with Nutro brand when we got our first dog (Chloe) from the breeder. When we decided to adopt a dog (Quincy) from the pound his skin was was red and dry & his coat thin and course. He was plagued with loose, frequent stools. After 6 months on this Nutro product he was a different dog!! Soft silky full coat and no more dry itchy red skin or loose stools! Everyone including my vet were amazed at his transformation! I'm a die hard fan and would NEVER use anything else for my babies!
I have used Nutro Natural Choice products for my dogs exclusively for the past 16 years and am pleased with the very limited number of recalls they have had in their dog food lines over that period of time compared to their competitors. They seem to have integrity in their manufacturing process, and I so appreciate that they use U.S. farm-raised chicken. My rescued shepherd/sheltie mix started on the chicken and rice adult, moved to the lamb and rice adult and then on to the senior in her old age. She lived to be nearly 17 years old and I credit Nutro and lots of long walks for her good health throughout her life. Now I have a new rescue dog, a 5-year old Australian Shepherd. When I rescued her she was on a holistic duck and turkey food and had frequent unformed stools 4-5 times per day. Over the last week I have begun switching her to Nutro Wholesome Essentials Chicken Rice and Oatmeal and like magic she is now on a regular bathroom schedule and her stools are firm enough to pick up. She loves the food so much I even use it as a training treat for her. I have confidence in Nutro for the good health of my dogs.
My mom and I used this formula for our 2 Shih-tzu for three years. Then our 12 year old Bearded Collie started getting sicker and sicker with age, we gave her some of this instead of her normal food, and she's almost completely back to her old self :) Around the same time, I moved out with my Shih-tzu and decided to try a different food. She would eat it, but from August until the past couple of weeks, she wasn't acting like herself. Switched her back to this formula and voila, Pixie acting like a pixie once again. I had my Husky/Lab puppy on a different quality dog food that was cheaper. She took one sniff of this and immediately loved it, she even prefers the adult formula to the puppy formula. I guess it's true, the dogs really do know what's best for them!
Our pups [4, 3 & 6m] ate Blue Buffalo since we got them. We found that it was way to strong for them. Constant upset stomachs [horrible gas]. With the guidence of our vet we decided to switch them to Nutro & have been so please. No more upset stomachs or gassy pups. They love their food & we love having peace of mind that we are giving them a high quality food that is perfect for their needs. We have referee many friends & family to make that change to Nutro♡
I ordered small bites for my dog…. You sent the wrong type of food for my dog…
I have been feeding my dogs this about 10 years. My current dog is 5 and last shipment I got was sweet potato he won't eat. Where is original formula?? He is an English setter and they have sensitive stomachs now what do I do cause what I find is 100.00. Are you crazy. Thanks a lot Nutro
