A BIT OVER FIVE DOLLARS FOR SEVEN OUNCES IS WAY OUT OF LINE...I BELIEVE IT MIGHT BE A RELATIVELY NEW ITEM FOR WALMART AND THEY WILL DROP THE PRICE AS SOON AS A DEMAND HAPPENS...SO, KIDDIES, GRAB THEM UP, PLEASE

I think these are amazing! I had gotten fruta en vaso (fruit in a cup) from La Guatelinda in Morgantown and loved the tamarind candy in it. I want to re-create that at home. This is on point! So good! It's a perfect balance of sweet, salty and spicy!

I love these tamarind bites. It's a great mix of sweet, spicy and tart. They are addictive but you only need to eat a few to feel satisfied. Im so glad Walmart sells this.

So tasty. They remind me of home. For those of you who like tamarindo with more spice (talking to you, Mexico people), add some lime juice and then sprinkle some Tajin on these little morsels. Just like what I grew up eating, minus the shell and seeds. Yum!

It tastes like the Indian version I'mused to having. Also, I like that the bites are pitted! Very good.

7 ounces isn't much for price but you know. Taste is delicious I love tamarindo candy, all day everyday lol. Don't overdo it, it will cut your tongue and roof like any acidic candy. Don't ask me how I know lol...bomb.com amigos. Not super spicy either just right goldilocks.

Beware of any hard/abnormal pieces. At times you get a tiny, hard piece of tamarind seed but this snack still reminded me of a childhood treat, so I bought a bag weekly. On this 6th bag, as the "ball" dissolved I felt a larger than normal piece of the hard seed in my mouth. I spat it into a napkin, paid no more attention (late night, i was watching a movie). Fast forward to taking the trash out the next day, the half open napkin looked like it contained a small bug. I put it under bright light- it was dark brown, had ridges. I saw another piece in the napkin that looked almost like a bee stinger. I was in denial. I thought no. no.no..it must just some weird pieces of the seed that didn't get as ground up as normal. Out went the trash. At 3 am, it's still tickling my brain so I google bugs that may be inside tamarind fruit/get in tamarind products. To my absolute horror I saw it. The Tamarind Weevil aka Sitophilus linearis, uses that "stinger" to burrow into the tamarind fruit. This bug specifically eats tamarind. I spat it out after eating this tamarind snack. I suggest the manufacturer have tighter quality control measures and at least make it so that there are NEVER hard pieces of ground up tamarind seed in this treat. I just assumed this hard piece was just like the others in the 5 bags I had had before. I just want to warn other of the possibility: you may be eating a tiny piece of seed or it may be a bug.
