Paid this with the NVX VADM2 - good value; easy to use... the connection 3.5 jack is a bit problem if it gets bumped alot it causes distortion put dialectic grease and tape it up move to a location that wont get bumped around. Other wise Volume control on the controller doe snot control the volume on phone like most BT's do so turn your BT device up all the way then use this to control actual volume to amp. I mounted mine on my Can am as shown below.

Some good and bad with this. I have had this unit in a saltwater environment for around a year so I feel this is a fair test. I am very diligent about cleaning my boat and the connections are in a water resistant area, but no place on a boat is truly dry unless it is sealed. I have seen the extra humidity alone wreak havoc on electronics. Positives First off love the compact size. Makes it very easy to mount. Love the cost, yes it is a simple unit and shouldn't have a huge price tag but for the Sonic Electronix price it is very appealing. It looks very clean. Connection has been very consistent across several different phones. No corrosion within any of the connections is evident!! Huge plus here. Sonically, it delivers what I would want from this type of unit. No shortcomings, weird sounds, static, etc. Negatives Some of the functions of my unit disappeared within the first month of operation; however, due to the accessibility of the installation I have just worked around these minor inconveniences. Power does not power off the unit. I had to wire a separate switch on my boat to handle this function. Pause and track forward/back does not work with any of my sources so you have to break out the phone to handle this. It does turn the volume up and down but you have to rapidly push the buttons and it eventually works, so I generally just pull out the phone again. All in all, I like the unit but it does have some shortfalls. Losing some functionality is difficult. Once the volume buttons are gone, all functionality will be gone. I would appreciate more positive feedback from the buttons as most of the time I am moving when trying to use them (volume only now) I'm going to replace this season, thinking of trying the JL but at 80 dollars more than this one, might just replace with another one of these and hope for a better experience.
