I BOUGHT THIS AFTER CHECKING OUT REVIEWS ONLINE AND I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS I GET... I AM EXTREMELY FAIR SKINNED AND I USE THIS PRIMER ALONE WHEN I DO NOT FEEL LIKE A FULL FACE OF MAKEUP; WITH JUST MY TINTED MOISTURIZER AND BRONZER... I HAVE EXTREMELY DRY SKIN AND THIS DOES NOT LOOK DRYING OR CAKEY WHEN I APPLY IT AND IT GRABS AND HOLDS ONTO MY EYESHADOW PENCIL COLORS, IT LOOKS LIKE I JUST APPLIED IT WHEN I GO TO TAKE IT OFF AT NIGHT... FOR THE PRICE, YOU JUST CANNOT BEAT IT!!!
I love this eyeshadow primer. I guess I have oily eye lids, if there is such a thing, because when I don't use a primer, early in the day my eyelids start getting shiny and tacky. I've used different primers throughout the years, more expensive primers, and this is the best one I've tried. I was really amazed at how good it is, and at such an inexpensive price. It's the perfect color for my skin tone, a very neutral light beige. It goes on creamy and seems to dry somewhat into a matte texture. It makes the perfect canvas for eyeshadow. I'm very fair and I have the red splotchy undertones many fair people have and this completely covers it. I've even started using it on my lower inner eyelids, because they're very pinkish, and also right under my eyes for a concealer.
I love this primer. I've only ever used 2 different types of primers, and this one is my favorite. It works so well you'll be amazed by how well this works. The application is in a stick form, which makes it easy to apply to your eyelid, versus the other kid I tried was a tube. This was so! Much easier. It also means you don't have to use any brushes to apply it, which means less cleaning. You can rub your finger over the top of the applicator, and then on your eye if you're looking to use a little less, but I never needed to. I wouldn't use this as a primer for eyeliner too, at least for me, using another stick applicator for my eyeliner, found that my eyeliner didn't go on well, the line wasn't straight, and it was pulling on my eye. Also some of the primer ended up on my eyeliner, and the primer lifted off of my eye lid. But this is just me, other applications for eyeliner may work differently. I found that putting on my eyeliner first, then the primer, worked fine. There was a little cross over (eyeliner ended up on primer), but it was easy to remove, just wiped over it with a clean finger (or tissue). I also found that it made my eyeliner more of a finished look, it didn't go over my eyeliner but it made the line above my lashes more of a line, and removed any eyeliner that may have gone rogue. There are two ways you can go about putting on your eyeshadow, you can either let the primer sit for a little bit or put it on immediately. This primer works for either cream eyeshadows or powder, and for cream eyeshadows I found it was best the let the primer sit for a little bit and dry, and then apply the cream eye shadow. I've heard that for powden eye shadows it's better to apply immediately after the primer, so that the powder kind of sits and sitsettles into the primer, and that this is another way of making the eyeshadow last longer. I'd suggest doing that if you dab or sits tipple your eyeshadow on, but I use Almay's eyeshadow and use a sweeping motion, so I did not try the not waiting for the primer to dry application many times. I found little to 0 difference between waiting or not waiting for the primer to dry, but you should try both and see what works best for you. Either way this primer lasts an incredible amount of time. This primer really does a good job of holding the eywshadow, I love it, and it's at such an amazing price. This tube lasted me a solid 6 months, at least, and it used it 5-6 times every week, so you're really getting a lot out of it. The stick twists up, so there's more once the top is empty. I should add that once you make your way down and you're our near the bottom, you can't sharpen it, but they've made it so there's still a little bit of a curve, but not much. This wasn't a problem for me, but I felt I should add that in. This primer is very light, and I think it would work on any skin tone, light or not, it's going under your eyeshadow so if you're worried any bout anything, don't be, it's going to be covered up anyway. I guess the last thing I have to say is that I just really liked this. It applied smooth, didn't dry out, and never cracked or broke. I love this and I love the price even more.
It is a soft application and it is easy to use!
Arrived broken. Won't buy again [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It came broken and messy.
Primer is in a lipstick type form and came broken. For the price, it was not worth returning.
