Excellent eyeliner pencil that I had despaired of ever finding again locally and then found online. I have used these Nyx pencils for years and years, and when I couldn't find them, I tried many other brands, but this one from Nyx is still the best and easiest to get a good soft line without hard edges or smudges.
The ad said grey but the color on the pencil said charcoal. It's a little too dark for me but I will keep it because it glides on smoothly.
I bought the shade 'Light Brown' after watching Nina Vee on YouTube constantly rave about it. It is literally the best shade to line and overline the lips, perfect if you like brown-nude shades. I use this everyday and it has replaced all of my other lip liners. It is not the most long lasting but I still cannot stop using it because the shade is perfect. It this shade was made into a waterproof version, it would be even more perfect. I will never stop buying it!
I love the eye liners and the way the glide on, they last all day and the colors are perfect. However, I have noticed the last couple of times that they are hard to sharpen. They sharpen more on one side or the tips break off causing you to have to sharpen it more. I thought maybe my sharpener was getting dull, so I bought a new, same thing. I don't know if they are being made out of the same material or if I just received some older ones. I will say that it happened with both of the colors that I ordered so I can't say that it was one or the other. I do love them and will continue to purchase them because other than the sharpening issue, they are amazing!
I just bought my favorite shade, Soft Brown. I hadn't purchased this brand of eyebrow pencil in years and it was my favorite. It was always so easy to sharpen. What I just purchased is not made like years ago because the color consistently breaks away from the pencil while sharpening and it just isn't the same quality as it used to be.
I purchased this product in White, hoping for something that would easily glide across my waterline. I previously purchased the Nyx Slide On Pencil in Pure White, thinking that may work a little better than just a plain wood pencil, however that one broke the second I tried to sharpen it and it was a mess. So I pitched it and bought this instead, knowing this would sharpen better. And it definitely does sharpen better, however the color pay off is not nearly as good, and applying it is more difficult. I find myself having to go back over and over everything I had just done, and it never gets as white as I hope. It is not totally disappointing, however it isn't quite up to my standards either. (For something that works super well, I recommend Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. Although it looks bulky, it applies bright color to the water line...or the rest of your eye to... beautifully.)
Used to be my favorite eyeliner. Couldn't find it in stores for a long time, then finally came across it being sold online! I was so excited and bought like 20 pencils because it was my favorite. These pencils have been awful with my most current purchase. Every time I try to sharpen, the pencil tip beaks off. I've wasted several pencils just trying to get one sharpened. It's not the sharpener either, I've bought three different brands. So disappointed
I love the color, and it's really good at not smudging after applying--HOWEVER I cannot for the life of my sharpen the pencil, because after the tip fell off after one or two uses, any using a sharpener has the tip fall off every single time, and has jagged wood, so it's unusable. Really disappointed, because again, the one to two uses I got from it really looked nice.
This is the second time I've purchased this eyebrow pencil and have experienced the same issue. Each time I attempt to sharpen, the tip breaks causing me to re-sharpen and waste perfectly good product. Initially I thought it was just my imagination; however, having experienced this issue twice, this seems to be the norm and not the exception. Disappointed in this manufacturer, this issue feels intentional.
Something has changed in the manufacturing of these pencils--in the last year I've thrown out all 3 (brown and medium brown) that I've purchased because they are now hard/dry and downright painful to use, deposit little color, and the crayon shatters so much when I attempt to sharpen them that they just can't be salvaged. It's so disappointing because they used to be creamy and a dependable go-to. I see that my old nubs of this pencil were made in Germany and now the new ones are made in Mexico. NYX, any chance of going back to your previous manufacturer?? I need to find a new brand.
