NYX Professional Makeup Velvet Matte Lipstick, Miami Nights, 0.14 oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this lipstick to match a costume I was wearing in a theatre production. It's very creamy and pigmented. It lasted the entire night through dance numbers and a lot of singing. The color even looked good on my fair skin tone. Amazing!

Perfect, creamy matte texture. Not too dry, and not at all greasy. Whipped Caviar is a great dupe for Mac Twig and Perfect Red really IS the perfect red for me, not too yellow, not too blue and makes my teeth look pretty! And, the formula does not leave my lips peeling and pilly after wearing it all day.

I thought this color would honestly look like my other burgundy/red color that i own that isn't matte. However, I loved how it looked on the first stroke on my lips. I thought it would be streaky but I didn't even have to apply a second coat! It was so soft and lightweight that I sometimes forgot I had it on. Definitely have to try the other colors!

I can't tell you how much I love the feel of the velvet matte lipstick. It glides on and has a beautiful feel on your lips. Since buying my first shade (soft femme) I have acquired nearly all of them because I am that in love with the feel. Thanks NYX, you make me feel beautiful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lipstick has the traditional nyx color payoff. I own both this lipstick and one of their other matte lipsticks and I can say the formula is pretty similar. They are both on the more solid side and a bit harder to apply, but this one does go on much easier than the other mattes. I have noticed is that it seems patchy fairy quickly after it dries, you have to work a bit to get an even application and it will wear during the day. Great lipstick for a matte color, but will need touch ups and attention. I still think it is worth it for the beautiful and unique colors, though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very matte classic 50's yellow based red. It is super long wearing and light weight, but very stiff and drying. When applying it, it dragged at the lips. This dragging action caused it to apply slightly unevenly. However, the unevenness is easy to fix with a second coat. It layers well and does not feather. Though I suggest wearing it with a lip pencil, that should help with the uneven application. In some lights it comes off as more of an orang-y red than a true red. But some find that attractive. Overall, not bad for the price.

That being said, it is definitely a velvety soft and highly pigmented lipstick with a gorgeous array of colors, including the one that I purchased but didn't like on my face personally. My friend wears it now, and she looks fantastic!

I bought 5 shades of this lipstick. I was especially interested in the dark purple and the dark blue. When I applied these lipsticks I found that they were not creamy at all. My lips were not very moist because the season is so dry here and I found that the lipstick stuck to any dry skin on my lips. I did wipe it off and try again after applying moisturizer first (I had to put on a lot of moisturizer) and then I found that they did look quite nice with no product sticking anywhere. So, I advise you to wear plenty of moisturizer on your lips each time you want to apply/reapply this particular formulation.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago in the shade charmed and I absolutely love the colour !!! it stays on for a long time too my only critique would have to be that it's a little hard to put on, it feels almost too dry but other than that it's a great product
