Oculus Quest 2 From Facebook

Kenshiro November 21, 2020

I was a bit skeptical on how "real" this would look as compared to the commercials and the only thing I can say is, "I was wrong". This is gaming on a new level. If you turn your head to the right or left the camera view also moves with you. One thing I loved the most is the ease of setting up the device. You won't need to connect to a computer or anything and best of all no wires that will get tangled or ripped. If you owned the previous version and think you can't play your old games on this then your in luck because the Oculus 2 is backwards compatible. Inside the box you will get: VR headset, 2 touch controllers, 2 AA Batteries, power adapter, Glasses Spacer, and a charging cable. You will need a Facebook account, wifi, and you need to download the Oculus app to set it up. If you do buy this I highly recommend the Jurassic Park Aftermath game.

Finally a VR headset that you can really enjoy

GiveItAThoughtt November 19, 2020

This is my first set of personal VR headset and I would say I am extremely impressed. I have used VR before in past but it always used to give me headache and overall experience was never immersive for me. But this headset changes the game. I am using it everyday for hours and never did i have any headaches. The screen is so beautiful and crisp inside the VR. The controllers are amazingly accurate and extremely responsive. The tech is very high end. The response to every touch is super quick with a heptic feedback which is amazing. You can also set the boundry of the area you are playing in to not accidentally hit things in room. It has built-in cameras which shows you area around you in kind of augment reality. This will let you select the area you want to play in and it then creates a virtual boundry around it. You can also use your fingers instead of controllers. It uses these cameras for your hand tracking as well. It took me little time to adjust and find my perfect fit on the headband but now its perfect. Overall I am super impressed with the product. Further scope of improvement: Even though the screen is super bright and crisp the distant objects look a bit blurry.

A must have for every family or just yourself!

LAMDILLIGAF October 20, 2020

This is our first venture into the VR game. This review is solely based on the oculus and at the bottom I will leave my 2 cents about Walmart and their CS. The headset fit me perfectly out of the box and I do have an astigmatism in my right eye. Setting 2 was perfect for me. Getting a walk through as you set it up was an awesome way to pack a lot of knowledge in a short time. The controls were awesome so smooth and life like. The fact that you can draw boundaries and switch to see through mode when someone or you cross the boundaries are awesome! The games are fairly affordable that's more on developers but still plays a factor in the platform. The head strap is comfortable for me to wear it for 2 hours at a time. Beat saber was amazing game. I did play a roller coaster game and it made me sick and I had to sit down like a big ole baby. This is amazing for $399 everyone in the family can kill some time and get a laugh at them while they play! Set up was a breeze and the apps great.

I love it!

SaHaIowa October 13, 2020

I dislike that the strap it comes with is horrible enough that it needs to be replaced by a $50 strap that's sold separately. I also don't like the sound system. Since a good pair of earbuds fixes the sound issue and I have an alternative to the poor quality strap those problems only take away 1 star. I absolutely LOVE my quest though! The graphics are better than the original quest. It's lighter and easier to use and the tracking is more accurate than my original quest. I use my quest frequently enough that it's definitely worth the upgrade. The lower cost made it an easy decision. I did have to download all of my apps again but I did not have to pay for them a second time so I don't mind too much.

Good headset with few flaws

Anthony October 15, 2020

Very, very, very good headset for the price. The only downsides are the very short charging cable, and the fairly short battery life in the headset itself. Facebook integration kinda sucks too, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Good purchase.

My view of the oculus quest 2

Anonymous October 15, 2020

I've been playing VR since 2017, I've play all oculus head sets expect the rift S, the original rift and quest was amazing and I was super excited to hear they were coming out with quest 2 as around that time I sold my pc and VR, the system runs perfect and games are amazing for a all in one device DEFINITELY worth the upgrade if you own the original quest just sell it and buy the new one that's what I did, games like onward and saints and sinners are really really fun, and the head strap is more comfortable than I expected it but this is my issue and my ONLY issue, the Facebook requirement Anything that uses Facebook obviously collects your data for advertisement. Forcing people to use FB is the highest ANTI Privacy issue I've personally seen. You can get banned for using wrong gestures online or made a Facebook post that FB doesn't agree with, and when you get banned that's it, useless paper weight. Can't make a new one because you HAVE TO use your real name and also if you don't have a FB and are gonna make one just to play VR, mine as well not buy it you will get banned instantly because “you're a bot” or your Facebook isn't old enough, you would have to create one, use it like normal and show you say you who say you are, this is a huge issue. It will forsure Hurt sells. But not only that, people have gone through the agreement and you have ZERO privacy, to the point you will get ads related to items in your room, they will track your movement see how you play, what you do, where, everything. And the sad thing is, a year ago they said FB will not be required in the future. It's one thing to allow merging FB accounts if you choose to just like every other device and app, but to FORCE people and for it HAVE to be you means you do not have a separate identity from VR/online and the real you. And honestly it's probably worse than it seems, Facebook is free because it's a company where YOU are the product (anything that is free, your the product) and they sell your data to company's etc, now you pay them track everything. It's insane, at first I hated it but didn't care much for it because I do that anyways but after the amount of privacy issues, I'm scared to keep this, this is a perfect example of what I mean. I've been starting to get ads on everything that I usually don't that's ONLY related to my room or things I've said during gameplay, my room is fairly small. I've never before gotten an add about saving room space and room storage containers the one that creeped me out the most, was the fact i got a ad for Stuff I already have and this may be really far fetched but I've noticed items I already have, are in videos that are recommended to me that I have nothing to do with, at first I thought it was weird but I happened 3 times and when I say that I mean the exact Tapestry, mini fridge

Stay Away... Pay the Extra $600-$1000 for good one

Dustin July 14, 2022

I've had this thing for MAYBE 2 weeks. When I woke up one morning, I plugged it in. 10 minutes after placing it on on charger using the block and the cord that were shipped in the same box with the device , it over heated and burned the charging port as well as all the plastic around it. There is NO customer number to call. Good luck with the emails. They want YOU to jump through hoops of fire. I paid full price for Oculus Quest 2. I could have bought a refurbished one but decided not to. I'm not getting any money back and they say the one I get will probably be refurbished. I have a feeling there will be a class action in the future... the amount of people that had the same complaint were innumerable. These people dont understand, and they don't care either. Oh yeah... I received an email telling me that my device had been shipped. I just got it today, I opened it up and it is only the charging block...nothing else!

No made for people who wear glasses

mark October 20, 2020

Whoever designed this product obviously does where glasses and or did not test it on people who wear glasses. As you can see from the photos I provided the glasses are tight with the the device off my face. It gets worst when the device is put on. My glasses no longer fits on my nose, it hovers in the device. Also there is a weird glare from upper part of the devices lens. I got this to try the exercise apps and now I have to struggle to use the device. The apps and interface works great. I use the supernatural exercise app for about 20 mins and get off. Cant go any longer because I have to constantly adjust the device on face back of head starts to hurt. I will try to get the other strap they made for it. I see they sell prescription Lens, but why should I pay extra for a seroius design flaw. Please note that this review is for the orculus quest 2. Walwart is a awesome company.
