Ogilvie Home Perm for Color-Treated, Thin or Delicate Hair, 1 Application

I don't use this product to put in curls. I use it to smooth out waves and help to tame my hair in the summer humidity. I am African American, but I use this thioglycolate perm to relax the waves in my hair by GENTLY combing the solution through my hair (Type 3 hair with S waves, I think), keeping the hair as straight as possible. This solution is pretty strong (20 minutes of gentle combing was too much, resulting in hair loss on my first try), so I had to adjust the combing time down to 12 minutes when I used the product again 7 months later. Much better experience. This product works well for me for manageability and frizz reduction.

Ordered these for my mom. It's what she's used for years -- same product -- but unavailable in stores anywhere. Online came through! She's happy, so that makes me happy.

When item was received, the waving solution did leak. The bottle was half full. The box was a little wet so all items in the box had to be removed. Would recommend something for better protection. Luckily there was enough waving lotion to put over the perm rods. Overall the perm did take.

when i opened the package they put it in, the smell was very strong. perm box looked like it had been in a fight. perm papers are wet from the waving lotion. not very happy here.

I feel like as we used this product on a woman with thin hair. It did not actually curl anything it fell out and we done as the package said and her hair didn't hold anything

I read the instructions about 3x and finally started the process. Unfortunately, I don't have long hair anymore. It got brittle, stripped right off my head, the texture was so scary. By the time I washed it out and did the next step, my hair was damaged 150%. I just looked at my hair and started crying because my hair was down my back like halfway and now it's up to my nape of my head. So I practically lost my curls instead of having curls because that was the one that I used. My hair is now straight and I can't style it anymore so I have to keep making it flat with my brush very lightly because I'm still losing hair. Never again will I try something like that. Now I have to wait a couple of years to get my hair back to the way I had it. Not sure what you're gonna do with this, but unfortunately, it did not work on my hair and now I have ugly, brittle, very, very short. I've never had short hair and I will have to wait a few years before it grows back to the way I had it. I was devastated and I still look at my hair now and I am disgusted because I can't style it anymore. I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do about it, but at least I gave you my opinion of this product and I don't suggest anyone to try it if you already have curls. The only reason I used it was because the ends of my hair were not curly, but everything else was. Unfortunately, it did not work on my hair and I lost money and a lot of hair until this day. I am still losing hair, even if I don't brush it or comb through it because I know it's gonna break the rest of my hair. I would like to go to a Hair Stylist where they can clip it all off and make me bald or try to fix it, but I can't afford to go to a salon. I'm sorry that I'm so dissatisfied, unhappy, and very, very angry with the way this product ended up, killing my hair and taking it from me. came in an envelope not a box. they bottles were all out of the box and FROZEN - perm didnt work. I have to cut my hair. waste of 14 bucks let alone what i have spent to repair what damage it did do. AND A NEW hair style. My hair was down past my bra strap and now it will have to be shoulder length

The bottles were leaking, the tops were loose, only about 1/2 left. i returned via Fedex after calling. fedex indicates it had been received a week ago. I still don't have my refund.
