I had an Oklahoma Joe offset for 20 years and wanted to try the Drum Smoker. I am glad I did, and so is my son who I gave the offset smoker which is still working great.
This smoker is amazing! The only thing I would change is the handle, it makes it hard to move around. The handle needs to be longer and higher for more leverage. It cooks like a dream.
I've had my Pro for over a month now and I've cooked everything on it! I've done 12 racks of ribs on it that came out awesome! Pork butts and chicken have turned out excellent! The 20lb brisket I cooke I did have to add more charcoal about half way through with the temps in the 30s but it turned out wonderful!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a number of smokers and hands down this Bronco is the best. No issues holding temp at all, it does take time to dial in the temp after that walk away. I use a grate temp sensor to help with correct temp. Best smoker I have ever had!!! Owned it for 6yrs.
The build quality is amazing and it is so easy to use. Recommend to everyone I can.
I got this put together and burnt it out proceeded to cook 20 pork butts on it and my small bronco they work great best money I have spent
When my electric smokes decided it was done I started looking for a replacement. The Bronco Pro has been amazing. So far pork loin, ribs, chicken, salmon and brisket have all turned out amazing. Even tri-tip is elevated to a whole new level on this smoker. I actually started to have a whole new appreciation for chicken when it's smoked and the space saved over a traditional offset smoker makes this easy to fit right next to my grill. I can't wait to try out smoking a turkey next month for the family!
I bought this for myself as a birthday gift...best gift ever. The ribs were smoky and moist, flavor was amazing. Best of all was the simplicity of the design...I simply love this grill. Two friends have purchased their own, after I posted the pictures, below on social media. You
This barrel smoker is pretty awesome! I've used it 3 times and have learned a great way to set up the fuel. I probably would have given this a 5 star, but the only thing holding me back was the grease catch at the bottom. I just wish it was bigger.
I've never used any brand or type of drum smoker before though I have 25 yrs of experience with offsets and reverse flows. I did hanging ribs and a whole chicken first. Burnt up the ribs but chicken was edible. Followed ok joes method of loading charcoal and lighting but it smoked heavily. 2nd cook I did hanging ribs only, used my own temp probes and loaded/lighted charcoal basket differently. Worked like a charm. Still plenty of experimenting and learning to do but I'm happy with it so far. Also have the OK Joe's Highland reverse flow and the OK Joe's Judge grill(not to mention the 4 other brands and types i have). All outstanding products for the price range.
