I love my new grill. It's no light weight though, It's Very heavy. Pushing it through the grass to the backyard was no easy task.I'm still working on cooking areas I like to use for different types of meat. I really love the option to grill or smoke with this grill.
Finally found the smoker I was looking for, I didn't want offset and I wanted a smoker that I can do direct heat grilling, it does both and it does them great. Thank you for finally making this.
First and foremost, cheaper than Oklahoma Joes website! Shipping took about a week for me and that was over holiday season. Quick assembly think it took more time to unbox than put together. Easy to start up and use. Let most smokers I'd suggest installing gasket around the pit to keep heat/smoke in
Was looking to get back into charcoal and wood cooking as I have two pellet grill and gas. Thought about barrel smoking but was impressed with loading fuel or cooking surface. Saw this met everything I needed and wanted it arrived assembly was good went smooth. Seasoned it and cooked a couple butts first and then five racks of ribs. The smoke taste was amazing and everything I was after. Relearning the charcoal and wood has been easy with this design adjustments for temperature was simple with a little patience I could not be happier with purchase.
Nice smoker can't wait to try it
So far it is a decent unit. Don't seem as heavy built like the highlander I have is. The fire box door is just held in place with a couple pins. Think it could have been designed a but better. Needs the iconic steel wheels over the plastic ones it comes with. Maybe include some type of thing to seal the seems of the fire box would be best to do during assembly.
Grill works awesome, did an ostrich leg for Thanksgiving, and the grill holds 250°F for the whole time with 3/4 of a charcoal bag and just adding some mesquite chunks here and there every hour or so, leg came delicius and tender, only reason i dont give five stars is because when i was assembling the grill the paint in the charcoal compartmnt chip off, other than that great product.
Nice grill/smoker well put together and fast shipping.
I had a ruff time putting the firebox together. Stripped out a bolt. The grill doesn't have an ash catcher so all the ashes went on to the heat sheild. I'm also trying to figure out what those hooks on the back of the grill are for? All in all my first cook went great. I bought this grill with the intent of not needing another one for a very long time. It is HEAVY and quite sturdy. Very well constructed. They need to knock $200 off the price I think. I look forward to trying the smoker next. I hope they make a cover available soon.
Not sure about this yet. Materials ok but for the price what can you expect . No really long cooks yet but first 2 I've struggled to maintain even temps
