Old ElPaso refried beans. Love the traditional ones. Heat in microwave with 1/3cup water in bowl and 2 finely diced green onions and 1/2 cup Mexican cheese. Awesome side with my Taco's love it
Refried beans are a great dish on their own or as a component of a delicious southwest salad or recipe. These should always be a component of a well stocked pantry!
I have tried a lot of different Canned Refried Beans and these are the best. I also make my own and these are a close first to my homemade. The flavor is just right and so is the consistency.
Great price
I've been spoiled by using my instapot for home made refried beans. These will do in a pinch but definitely not as fresh tasting and pretty bland. Ok for combining with chicken or beef for enchiladas but i wouldn't eat them solo without some additional flavoring, maybe garlic or hot sauce.
just about every can in the 6 pack are dented. I believe they are dented before they are packed and from over stacking. Even said, if it can break or dent, it will.
In the year 2021 to find "lard" as the second listed ingredient about bowled me over. I know I should've read first. Wanted healthy beans. Had no idea they were filled with animal fat. YUCK.
I decided to try old del paso refried beans for the first time in over a year hoping it would be like it was originally. It tastes completely disgusting. I am sorry I wasted money on buying this. I will go back to Taco Bell refried beans. Let me know when you are back to the original recipe.
The "new" refried beans are awful! I would wonder who you surveyed to warrant a change in your recipe as I have seen nothing but terrible reviews about your new formula. We use to love Old El Paso Refried Beans...now I gag just opening the can! It literally smells like dog food and not one person in my family will eat them anymore. I have tried adding different things (taco seasoning, enchilada sauce, cheese, etc) to help with the flavor...but still disgusting . I will not be purchasing anymore. You ruined a good thing.
I was so looking forward to Taco night, thinking about it all day. One of my favorite ingredients is the tried and true Old El Paso Refried beans in the can. As soon as I spread it on the tortilla I thought I noticed something different about the texture, but didn't think much of it. After all, I was starving. Taking the first bite, I was shocked! I am so not a picky eater, but this took me by surprise. Immediately asked...."Did we use a different brand of beans? because these are disgusting!". I promise I'm not lying when I say this is the first time I've taken the time to wright a review of any sort. There is no way anyone can convince me that someone had the idea to change the recipe after tasting this. I get it, things happen, supply, yada yada yada.....but really? If it makes any difference, I will be double for a can of the old recipe if and when available. Until then, we will be tasting other brands! I trust lesson learned, however, please don't change anything else without having others taste first. Kind regards, Jason
