This clay is thick and keeps hair style flexible hold all day it is hard to wash out may have to shampoo twice. It smells really nice my son loves it!

Old Spice's hair styling clay is a great, affordable pick if you're used to spending more on salon brands like By Vilain's Silver Fox. It really holds your hair in place, especially with a little hairspray added. Plus, you can even make it work the next day with just a hair dryer and some more spray. It's pretty awesome that it keeps everything in place without making your hair shiny, which is exactly what I want. I do wish it was a bit thicker, but for the price, it's a solid choice. The smell is nice too—strong enough to notice, but it won't knock you over. Overall, it's a good buy if you're looking for something that does the job without costing a ton.

This product was really good. Now, it is still good, but since they added ‘beeswax' in there, it makes the texture more… ‘clay'. I don't know how to word it. Prior to them adding I was able to get a clean, smooth scoop with my finger, allowing an easy application. Now, the smoothness is gone, I get more of a clay-chunk rather than a smooth clay swipe. I do have to wet my hair pretty good and damp it nicely for it to go smoothly, now with the beeswax it makes application tedious and leaves more clumps. When I'm mixing the clay in my hands, my hands need to be wet. The product prior would mix around perfectly leaving no clay building up at the base of my palm and if so, it wipes off easily in my hair. Now with beeswax, it leaves a hefty amount at the base of my hand and it doesn't easily wipe with water. I have to kind of scrape it to get more from it. Nonetheless, it is still a good product once you figure it out. I'm guessing I need to use way less product when applying and lightly add more as you go. It feels messy and a hassle as to what it was prior. The hold is great throughout the day, when you start to see more clumping, what I do is add slightly more water, and a brush. Unfortunately, what works for me, it has been too clumpy, I'll get a rag and wipe my head, apply slightly more water, use a comb (I slick my hair back) to even it out. It used to be easier to apply, but the beeswax made a difference to the texture of the clay. Quite a bit more shine to it too, not a lot but it's there.
