Great for curvy quilt pieces requiring precision cutting. I have always used Olfa 45mm cutters and did not think that this little one was really necessary but as I work with smaller, more intricate pieces with curves my quilting friend said this small blade would allow for more precision. She was right! Worth having this cutter.
I always use OLFA 28 mm rotary cutters for my crafts because I find it the perfect size to cut paper and felt, which are the materials I use every day. My two favorite colors are yellow and cyan, so when OLFA launched this aqua color, I was very excited to add it to my collection! I ended up using the yellow cutter for paper and the aqua one for felt, which helps me control how I use each blade. The Touch-Knife that comes with this kit stays in my entryway, so I can open boxes right away, it's very practical! 😍 I love both tools and highly recommend them 🩵
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have cut small appliqué pieces with the 28mm rotary cutter and it's perfect for tight curves. It's my go-to tool when I am cutting fabric or felt for small piecework because I need accuracy and the tool is sharp. #sweepstakes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to handle; blades stay sharp; different sizes for different tasks; easy to replace blades safely
I researched a few websites. The cost of the rotary cutter was the best price. So I bought it.
After 30 yrs of faithful service, my old 28 mm is worn to the point of needing replacement. It has cut all kinds of things, usually with an Olfa ruler to assist in its job. My new replacement 28 mm will probably outlast me. I have all kinds of Olfa products: rotaries of every size, mats of every size, rulers of every size, tiny knives (box cutter type), you name it. If it has the OLFA name and a bright yellow line or handle, it will catch my eye every time.
I bought this size to use it with my mask template that has a curve and now I use it most of the time... I love it. The size of the blade and how sharp it is makes it easy to achieve those dangerous curves. It's excellent for quilting or apparel sewing.
This rotary cutter is a life saver if you're cutting curves. I have a drunkards path quilt I just cut out, and I can't imagine cutting those curves without the smaller diameter blade. This one really makes it a breeze.
This is my new go-to for foundation paper-piecing projects! The small blade is perfect for cutting all the small pieces and quick blade change is super convenient.
As for the cutter I give it a 6 and for the delivery a 3. I love the way you can change the blade. Almost hands free. And it cuts great.
