Olive & June Nail Primer for Long-lasting Polish Protection

I am super pleased with my purchase and excited for when it is time to take this polish off so I can try another color!

I'm pretty tough on my hands, but by the end of the week, I only had one small chip. Even better, after removing the polish, my nails still looked healthy with no ridges or damage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't gone into a salon for years in order to get a full manicure due to thin nails. Gel manicures are beautiful but getting a gel change is brutal on my nails and so I stopped getting it done. I saw Olive and June on Facebook and decided to give it a try. I am hooked. . . the procedure is easy and I get to do it in the comfort of my own home. I choose to apply the easy peel off to avoid damage to my nails and yes, they don't last as long but I still choose this method for myself. If one of the nails peels off. . . . I just re-apply within minutes.

This is my go-to base! I notice that my polish stays on longer when I use this as the base. I literally never do my nails without it. And it dries quickly and goes on easy peasy fast. I took it to my friends and it's the perfect combo with my polish.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always have a hard time getting polish to stay without any sort of base coat, even with thorough prep, added this primer and I'm having dramatic improvement on the longevity of my manicures. I have a gel allergy so I can only use regular polish - I'm getting 7 day wear easily now!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hoping to get a base coat to protect my nails from the damage I inflicted by using gel and dip powder for about a year. I found the primer to be very thick. It was difficult to apply it in such a way as to make a smooth surface for color. When I used it with a long lasting color, my manicure stayed for about a week. It was the first manicure I did with my new kit and I was mostly satisfied with the results. For the next manicure I did not use the primer, I used a quick dry color and the top coat. My manicure was peeling off with in two days. So the primer may have fulfilled it's function, but it was not an easy, smooth foundation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have gone back to read the description of the listing and I hope it's user error on my part (and it may be!) but I did not see anywhere that showed the builder gel directions before purchasing and if I had, I think I would have put two and two together that the lamp is necessary for the process and does not come with this kit. Nor does it seem possible to purchase on its own? And the kit did not come with the necessary top coat either. So I feel like I spent a ton of money on the wrong kit and was supposed to purchase the regular gel kit first and then supplement with builder gel. I wish that had been more plainly stated. I do love Olive and June products but this was a lot of money and I'm just disappointed in myself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved everything about these products the first few times I used them, but after about the 4th time my nails are as bad, or worse than they were from salons. I'm really sad since I was really enjoying the fun colors and ability to do them at home.

The nail primer/ base coat is not what expected like from other brands. Meaning, I expected it to have a nice gloss after applying but it comes out matte. As if I did not apply anything to the nail. It's so matte it dries out the nail. Idk if that's normal. But all the other colors were great.
