great one step product that saves work and easy

euuuug July 22, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the convenience of a stain and sealant in one application. This was great on my redwood fence that needed a coating since it was outdoors in the weather. The color is great and the sealing will help my wood fence last the elements for a long time.

Caral0907 May 30, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Olympic Maximum stain and sealant is such a great product. It is weather ready application. Can apply on damp wood between the temperatures between 35 f - 120 f. It is dirt and scuff resistant and rain ready I just 8 hours. It's guaranteed 6 years on decks and. 8 years on fences. I love that it is stain and sealant all in one. It's semi transparent I have color 717 redwood natural tone. Goes on smooth. Love this product

Looks beautiful!

Jenns7 September 17, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product to stain and seal my outdoor steps. It left me with a beautiful semi transparent cedar finish that still shows the wood grain. It went on smooth and seemed to dry quickly. I only needed one coat to cover my stairs, but applied a 2nd coat to the tops of the stairs and railing for extra protection from the rain and snow. I am very pleased with the overall experience and appearance. Some of the great features of this stain and sealant are the fact that I could apply it to damp wood. This was a nice feature since I srubbed my steps prior to staining. I allowed my steps to dry for 3 hours in the sun before staining, but I didn't need to worry about them being completely dry due to this feature. I love that it is rain ready in 8 hours because you never know when the weather man will change the forecast! It is dirt and stuff resistant too! My favorite feature is that it should last 6 years on decks! Im looking forward to not having to re-stain my steps for a few years! This is a great product for anyone looking to stain and seal their deck, fence or siding! I would definitely recommend this Olympic product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent, very classy and most definitely the envy of the neighborhood. I was skeptical about the final appearance of the stain job but I am very fortunate have made this choice. My wife is living it !!!

Old Pew Bench renewed

Suzi May 29, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this on an old church pew bench that I keep outside under an overhang. It went on smoothly, was easy to use, and seemed to color uniformly. There were some areas, that seem a little darker than the others but that was probably my fault in not sanding down as much of the pew in areas. I like the way it came out- I will have to see how it holds up to the weather once we get a windy rain.

AmishCountryGirl December 26, 2013

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good product, but...from my experience, it's very good to excellent on vertical surfaces (railings), good-to-middling on horizontal ones (floorboards). I used this on brand-new floorboards this past May...now it's December and it looks like I might have to clean and apply more coats on them! Now, I did purchase the products in/around May 2012 and they were in "storage" (namely my basement, and I had 8 cans) till April 2013. I even asked folks at my local Lowe's store if the products were still good to use. They told me "yes", and that I'd have to make sure that each can was thoroughly mixed and stirred. I rolled each can at least 20 times on my floors, then stirred at least 100 times to make sure that the product was fully homogenous before using! I applied one coat on the floorboards, then waited at least 3 days before applying the second coat. According to the floorboard installer/company, I needed to wait at least 1 month for the boards to be "fully dry" before applying any stain, which I did (the boards were installed on 4/17/13, and I began staining them on/about 5/25/13). I sure wasn't wanting to have to do this work again come Spring 2014!

Did not last!

Sallyann48 June 13, 2018

My deck was power washed thoroughly, then stained with 5 gals of this product in late summer, 2017. When winter was over, and we could actually see what the deck looked like, it was apparent the stain was coming off then. It's now June 2018, and the photos show what it looks like at present. This is definitely NOT a six year product! I am not satisfied at all, and I would like my money back since I now have to start over. I will be choosing a different product this time.

Cedar tone

MichiganDeckUnhappy April 29, 2015

Followed directions and it lasted 2 seasons on a deck. I'd expect more out of something with a 6 year warranty. Maybe 4 or 5 seasons and I wouldn't complain but only 1/3 of its warranty? now I need to strip the deck and find a new product. Maybe 2 years is all that is expected for a deck stain?
