The OmniCore Designs mult-down hooded mummy sleeping bag is the way to go for any outdoor lover, regardless of the weather! With the capability of withstanding 30 degree Fahrenheit cold weather, it is an amazing water resistant sleeping bag utilizing its coverage without adding to the weight. It has three zipper pockets for stashing items away, two internal mesh and three zipper external. It traps the heat that usually radiates away from the head with the ‘hooded' feature, allowing more warmth to be captured and stay within the bag. The oversized hood also allows either packing of clothes to the head or keep a sleeping pillow in place sleeping comfortably almost like at home. It also comes with a storage sack to put it in without having to squeeze and roll tightly, letting the down breathe. You could also choose to use the compression sack to tightly keep the sleeping bag for easier transportation in a smaller package. This sleeping bag does not skimp on qualities and is very much worth the money when looking to bring the comforts of home into your outdoor adventures!
I love my OmniCore Designs M-3D -10°F / -23.3℃ Multi-Down Hooded Mummy Sleeping Bag. I have not went camping in many years, and I have been planning a big camping trip with all my friends. If the weather is hot, I can choose to sleep on top of my sleeping bag, but when it is cold, I will not be able to fall asleep, that's why I wanted to make sure I get a sleeping bag that will keep me warm. This OmniCore Designs Multi-Down Hooded Mummy Sleeping Bag is great, it is made to keep you warm in weather conditions of -10°F / -23.3℃. Boy did it past the test! It was quite cold, but this sleeping bag kept me warm and toasty! I have the regular size which fits bodies up to 6'2” and I fit in it perfectly. The materials is also very important to me and I have to say it is very very soft! I also love the design, the color is great and it is so smart to have the hood on the top. If it's hot, I can use it as extra padding for my head, but if it's cold, the hood covers my head and keeps me warm. Very smart design. I can't wait to take this 650 Fill-power down hooded mummy sleeping bag on another camping trip!
I am extremely happy with this product. I used it during a camping trip during the Winter, and couldn't believe how warm and comfortable I felt despite the cold, harsh surroundings. It's a high-quality, well-made product and comes with a mesh bag as well as a travel bag.
I had the chance to try the mummy sleep bag. last week I went to a spiritual retreat where there were more than 100 people, by saying this you can imagine there were not enough beds, this was at the mountains during this month of December, you can imagine how cold it was. I am so grateful I was asked to review this sleeping bag, before this, I stopped going camping because of how cold can it get. but last week I had the chance to try out this sleeping bag on the mountains, sleeping on the floor without any other commodities, and let me tell you how happy I am to had the sleeping bag with me. everybody on the place was complaining about how cold it was even inside the big room we were assigned to, well, not me, I just sleep inside my bag no other blankets, and I was not cold at all. The insulation of the bag it is awesome and I was surprised how can be rolled up to be in such a little space, you can take it with you anywhere, it is not heavy and it is not bulky, once it is out of the bag it has enough cushion to sleep on the bare floor and I could feel the cold of the floor going through the bag, so I will definitively recommend it without hesitation, I am planning to buy another 2 for my family and this time go in that adventure in the mountains again, I fall in love with this really.
In the distant past I've done a lot of camping and backpacking in Colorado, and look forward to camping with my grandchildren next summer. Having just received the bag, I tried it out last night by placing it on a foam pad in a cold room and sleeping in it, waking up overheated in about an hour. This sleeping bag may be large enough for two small adults to cozily share. With multiple zippers, the sleeping bag can be converted into a large blanket. If you got caught in bad weather and the bag got soaking wet, the ability to open it up completely would be really helpful when hanging it out to dry. Fabric loops are attached to each of 4 exterior corners, presumably to facilitate hanging the bag to air out or dry out. I used a squirt bottle to spray a little water on the bag's exterior and the water beaded up. If you spilled a drink on the bag and wiped it up right away, the bag would probably remain quite dry. Three zippered storage compartments on the bottom of the exterior could accommodate socks, underwear, or other small, soft items. Two interior mesh stash pockets attached at shoulder level could probably accommodate a smartphone, eyeglass case, or miscellaneous items. On the bottom of the bag, at both the head and foot, are sleeves that can be used to secure a sleeping pad; a strap at mid bag to help keep everything together. When compressed into the smaller containment bag the measurements are about 17” x 9” x 8”. The included large mesh storage bag (about 36” long) is recommended for long term storage, allowing the bag to breathe and preventing the insulation from compacting. Shipping weight was 3 pounds. I think this is a great sleeping bag for anyone who wants a very roomy sleeping bag. After fully unzipping the bag and opening it up like a blanket, I had a little bit of trouble re-connecting two overlapping zippers due to their close proximity. Not really a negative feature, but it took me a few minutes to get the two zippers aligned so I could zip them up again. I should have paid more attention to their alignment before I unzipped them.
I haven't had a sleeping bag, in years, so I thought it would be nice to test and review the OmniCore Designs Multi-Down Hooded Sleeping Bag. When I took it out of the box, my first thought was that it looked so small. However, that first impression was deceiving, as it is actually not small, at all. It was just nicely compressed, but opens to a nice large comfy sleeping bag (mine accommodates a person up to six feet tall). As it happens, I was able to test it out on one of the coldest nights of the year, for Florida (temps in the low 40's). I turned the heat off, in my home and got into the sleeping bag, at bedtime. It felt warm, soft and cozy. The old term "snug as a bug in a rug" comes to mind. It is very comfortable, roomy and the bag itself feels like satin, to the touch. It really is like snuggling up, inside a down comforter (duck down is used in the insulation fill) and I did not feel the cold, at all. Even though the sleeping bag is very warm, it is not heavy. The 3D structure does not constrain movement, so it is extremely comfortable. This is absolutely the nicest sleeping bag, I have ever used. There is a sleeve, for a mattress pad and there is also a pillow pocket. It has some storage pockets, to keep things handy, if needed, which would be nice for camping purposes. The compression bag is what it comes in, but included is also a net storage sack, so the down can "breathe". Instructions are machine wash, cold, gentle cycle and hang dry - do not dry clean. I can honestly say that I am very impressed, by this sleeping bag. I had been sleeping under layers of blankets, because the weather was colder than normal - but this sleeping bag kept me warmer, than all those blankets and I was much more comfortable, in the sleeping bag! When I got out of it, in the morning, I was hit with cold air and then I realized just how warm the sleeping bag had kept me, overnight! This is a really wonderful, high quality product and I would definitely recommend it. Thumbs up!
My grandson has gotten big enough that it's no longer practical for him to share a sleeping bag with mom or dad when we go on family camping trips or to the deer lease, so I have been on the lookout for a first sleeping bag of his very own for him to use. I wanted to find something that would keep him warm during winter camping trips. We live in Texas, so we are not able to comfortably use down sleeping bags for much of the year, but it comes in very handy during the few months of cold we get. I am really pleased with the OmniCore Designs Hooded Mummy Sleeping Bag because I needed it to be heavy enough to keep him warm in the winter, but also hoped that it would also be light enough to perhaps use into the spring. Judging from the few times we have been able to use it, I have determined that this sleeping bag is a versatile, comfortable, and high-quality product that is also very soft to the touch. On our first trip to the deer lease in early December of this year, my grandson stayed warm and comfortable all night. I decided to go with the XL size because he's a restless sleeper, and I wanted him to have plenty of room to move. I am glad I did, because it gave him plenty of room to toss and turn without waking up in the morning trapped in its folds. It should give him many years of good use. I'm anxious to see how well it works for him when we go camping during the week of Spring Break in March. Overall, I am very happy with this product and I would definitely recommend it! And if your kids are anything like this one, all you have to do is tell him that his new sleeping bag is a Hooded Mummy.
The first thing I loved about this sleeping bag is that it doesn't have the typical tapered foot section! While I love how warm normal mummy bags are, I hate how restrictive they feel, especially for my feet. This bag has lots of foot room. I also love little details like the pocket for a pillow (or just clothes), the straps for the sleeping mat to fit in, little pockets at the top of the bag (for things like a phone), and vents for the feet if you get a little too warm. It's December in Montana so I wasn't too eager to try out the bag, but my husband was! He slept on the cement patio outside while it was snowing, but it was only down to 20 degrees F, so no testing it down to -10 unfortunately this time. But he slept very comfortably all night in this bag. He was toasty warm, almost too warm, in just a tshirt and sweat pants. The only thing he didn't like about the bag, was that while the extra little zippers on top are nice for getting in/out and putting your arms out to grab something, they moved way too easily. So sometimes if he moved a little they would unzip and it was cold. Another is that the zipper down the side comes undone too easily. He unzipped it to get in, but it actually came detached (like totally unzipped) very easily and he had a hard time getting it back together without totally getting out of the bag. The bag does compress fairly well, but it certainly isn't a super lightweight backpacking bag (but better than a lot of other super warm, and heavy, bags). It also comes with a mesh bag to keep it in when you aren't using it, to keep it from getting too compressed over time, which was a nice surprise! Overall, we like it, and it will be added to our camping adventures when it's still cold out!
I received this product in return for my honest opinion. The product being reviewed is a Omni Core Designs -10 deg F down sleeping bag. The shape of the bag is rectangular and is 33 Inches wide and 80 inches long and the weight is 5.16 pounds. The regular sized bag will fit a person up to 6'2” tall. It comes with a right hand YKK # 5 zipper. The shell is made from 75-denier diamond rip-stop polyester and the liner is made from 50-denier brushed polyester. The bag's insulation is a mix of both 650-fill power duck down and man made Stratus Loft 100 g/m. The bag has a built in hood and comes with a compression bag and a very large heavy duty stuff bag. The M-3D is designed to be used with a mattress and has built in mattress pad sleeves to keep you from slipping off the mattress. A mattress will definitely be needed as there is very little insulation built into the floor of the bag. A large pillow pocket is built to accommodate almost any sized pillow or combination of multiple pillows, a really nice feature. The interior of the bag features two stash pockets to help keep small items organized. Without a doubt this is the largest and most roomy bag you can find at this weight limit. I own many body hugging mummy style bags they are great for back- packing but not so great for comfort and are by design very restrictive. I feel that the Omni Core Designs -10 Deg F sleeping bag is best suited for RV and or campground use. I also believe that the -10 F Deg rating is wildly optimistic. I would personally rate it around 35 to 40 Degrees F and below that temperature I would have to layer up or want to add another layer of blankets. The foot of the bag opens by way of a short zipper the overlaps the main zipper. This is a bad design and very difficult to try and force the foot zipper around the bottom corner and over the long zipper. The size of the bag is great for it's weight but I am concerned about it's long term durability. I will be using this bag in my camper and I would gladly trade a little extra weight for heaver material and some extra insulation in the bottom of the bag. I would recommend this bag for campground and or RV camping only. As a price point versus weight and size go this bag is a good buy. I would not recommend it for backpacking nor below zero temperatures.
By the time you receive your version of the OmniCore M-3D -10°F / -23.3℃ Multi-Down Hooded Mummy sleeping bag, I hope they will have included a pictorial instruction on how to restore the sleeping bag to it's original compressed state, and permanently attach this label, to the large mesh bag. An instruction video online would be a good idea as well. It was baffling to both my husband and I. He finally figured it out though, including the four zippers. But when I used it again, I forgot all but the first two steps. In the end, I rolled it up like a taco and stuffed it in the large mesh bag. I guess that is why they provided that second bag, that is three times larger than the nylon container. If you roll it up correctly, you'll have space in the mesh bag, to carry an extra sleeping bag or a couple of standard pillows. The two steps that I remember, are that the double zipper that is not attached to each other, has to go through the track at the same time and it has to start on the bottom, if you have unzipped it the whole way. The second step is folding the sides in toward the center. There's a way to do it, so that you are filling the sleeping bag in on itself, through the large black pockets, on the backside ends. I thought it was neat watching it. But it was no fun forgetting how to do it myself, a few days later. I don't know how they came up with measuring the temperature. I tried sleeping with the bag open as a top sheet on an air mattress, with another sleeping bag as a blanket. I got cold in a 69 degree apartment. Last night I tried it zipped up with me inside it, lying on top of a queen size bed in a 59 degree room. I was still cold. After I added a sheet, two blankets and a quilt, I was comfortable again. Being cocooned in this sleeping bag, under all of those blankets, gave me a luxurious feeling. The only inconvenient aspect, was that the strap ended up underneath me. Every time I moved, the sleeping bag made a loud rustling noise in my ears. The zippers got stuck, so I gave up trying to get out of the bed last night. My husband was already asleep and I didn't have a flashlight. My additional advice to the designers, would be to add some cushioned material to hide the presence of the zippers all around the inside of the sleeping bag. What is there is inadequate. I could feel metal on the side of my arm and the tip of my feet. The bag was big enough for me to move away from it. A taller and wider person would be uncomfortable in this bag. Also, Velcro on the sides of the bag would keep the strap from being underneath the person sleeping there. And personally, offer more pretty colors like lime green. Overall, it's a cozy little number.
