Incredible! I can't stand mummy bags as they're too constricting for me, so I found these that were rated for -10 and rectangular shaped. I didn't actually realize how big they were, which was amazing! They comfortably fit me with extra room on the sides and bottom, but the way the sleeping bag is set up. It's like almost like a shallow box, instead of the feeling you get a flat sleeping bag. My husband and I use these on Kilimanjaro during the coldest time of the year. We were not cold once they were perfect. They also didn't retain any condensation so when we woke up, we were dry in the mornings. I cannot say enough good things about the sleeping bags and they are so comfortable. They're just incredible. I definitely wish there were more like this readily advertised instead of just mummy bags but I'm so glad I found this one. I highly recommend it!
The OmniCore Designs mult-down hooded mummy sleeping bag is the way to go for any outdoor lover, regardless of the weather! With the capability of withstanding 30 degree Fahrenheit cold weather, it is an amazing water resistant sleeping bag utilizing its coverage without adding to the weight. It has three zipper pockets for stashing items away, two internal mesh and three zipper external. It traps the heat that usually radiates away from the head with the ‘hooded' feature, allowing more warmth to be captured and stay within the bag. The oversized hood also allows either packing of clothes to the head or keep a sleeping pillow in place sleeping comfortably almost like at home. It also comes with a storage sack to put it in without having to squeeze and roll tightly, letting the down breathe. You could also choose to use the compression sack to tightly keep the sleeping bag for easier transportation in a smaller package. This sleeping bag does not skimp on qualities and is very much worth the money when looking to bring the comforts of home into your outdoor adventures!
This is a great sleeping bag! It's the softest sleeping bag we've ever had. It is thicker than any other bag we've had. I was actually impressed because most sleeping bags are very thin with little comfort. It has a hooded area to place your pillow, which is new to me(but maybe not others ). It has padded sleeving on the sides. It is very well insulated. It comes with a net bag also, which is great for me because I'm one of those people that has trouble rolling the bag up just right to fit back in it's carrier. I guess the net bag could be used for different things.
The OmniCore Designs Mummy Sleeping bag is a extremely light sleeping bag that is comfortable and portable. The bag rolls up into a very small package. The bag is well constructed. The bottom of the bag is made of a material that is slightly thicker and more durable so that any rocks or sticks on the ground will not puncture the lining. They even designed in a mesh bag into the lining to stow anyway lose items. This was the perfect place some extra napkins during my trip. I found the bag did a good job keeping me warm at night. If you are extremely cold, I recommend that you first walk around briskly to warm up before jumping in the bag. The bag will keep the warmth in but it does not generate heat like an electric blanket. I like the colors of this sleeping bag too. It is teal, light gray and contrasted with some yellow. The sleeping bag even comes with a carrying bag although it is extremely large for the size of rolled up sleeping bag. My guess is that they expect you to put a couple bags into it. I recommend this bag to anyone who wants to stay warm without lugging a heavy sleeping bag to their campsite.
I like that the right side zipper opens all the way down the right side as the left side zipper only goes down about 1/3 of the way down. This allows me to be able to get in and out easily. I also like the storage places at the foot of the sleeping bag. There are three separate zip-up compartments, I don't know if they are for only storage or if you can place heat pads to help keep your feet warmer. I didn't try that but I was able to store away items like tooth paste, tooth brush, comb, brush, deodorant, rinse cup as well as snacks that are enclosed either seal-able bags and or small containers with close tops. I also had things like lighters, toilet paper, wipes, starter paper used to start a camp fire. So you can use it to store small items that you wish not to get wet. All the items stayed dry. The back is designed with a section that is sewn to where an opening is left for you to be able to place (and it would secure) a foam pad the size of the sleeping bag and or a flat piece of board for those with back problems (those don't come with this sleeping bag – must purchase or make yourself). It is a sturdy sleeping bag that kept me warm in 25 – 30 degrees of cold weather. It is so well insulated that I was warm pretty quick each time I got back into it (since I had a few bathroom runs that I had to make one day-lol). Another benefit of this sleeping bag is the hood; it allows you to have your head covered without having to be zipped in like a cocoon! This sleeping bag is made convenient for storage. Once you are done using you can roll it up put it into the convenient storage bag that is mesh designed, plus a bag that allows you to protect your sleeping bag prior to placing it in the mesh bag by using the other storage bag that is water proof and has a clip-on top to help protect your sleeping bag when storing it away. I almost forgot this sleeping bag has attached strips on each corner of the sleeping bag that allows you to be able to secure your sleeping bag to the ground with stakes (which don't come with this sleeping bag). I believe you can also use them to hang up your sleeping bag when not in use during the day when camping so that you can air it out as well as keep it off the ground when not in use. I would recommend this sleeping bag for anyone who is looking to keep warm while out in the woods or if you play camping in the back yard. It will keep you warm and is very comfortable too!
This sleeping bag is nice and big...plenty of room once zipped. It was very warm and pretty comfortable. It came nicely packed, but with another mesh bag which was larger and is where the bag is stored now. I think the hood is a great idea to help trap the warmth and keep you nice and toasty. I would think it would be more for the more serious campers/hunters. Another plus is the mesh pockets where you can put your cell phone and a flashlight so you know exactly where they are when/if you need them.
I am super excited for camping again because this OmniCore Designs Multi-Down Hooded Mummy Sleeping Bag is awesome! Firstly, when I opened the packaging I realized I also got this huge mesh net bag. This would be great for a lot of things like laundry or gathering things or whatever. But I learned later that it is for putting the sleeping bag in after use so it can get air and breathe so to speak. Really cool idea. Another cool feature is the sleeping bag cover bag had like a water resistant cloth lid that you put over the opening and buckle it so that if you are caught in the rain, the sleeping bag won't get wet. Just the cover will. Super nice. Especially for here in the PNW where it rains like 10 months out of the year anyway. Never seen that feature before but I love it. Next, the sleeping bag itself is fluffy and soft and visually appealing with the simple yet attractive color scheme of gray, black and yellow. It is a mummy bag shape with the top part that comes up like a hood to block out the wind which is nice and that also helps keep your body heat in since most escapes through your head. It really is soft and comfy. There is also extra material pieces on the bottom side of the sleeping bag which I believe helps the design. There are also mesh pieces inside on the sides and there are little pockets throughout the sleeping bag for you to store stuff. Plus it fits people up to 6 foot tall. I'm pretty short and tiny and my girls and I wanted to test it out. They are 3 and 7 and we cuddled up inside it together. They pretty much laid on me but we fit. Definitely comfier than other sleeping bags I have had. Definitely recommend. Love the yellow color inside. I did get to try this for free through the Spark review program but the opinions here are based on my own experience.
I received this product in return for my honest opinion. The product being reviewed is a Omni Core Designs -10 deg F down sleeping bag. The shape of the bag is rectangular and is 33 Inches wide and 80 inches long and the weight is 5.16 pounds. The regular sized bag will fit a person up to 6'2” tall. It comes with a right hand YKK # 5 zipper. The shell is made from 75-denier diamond rip-stop polyester and the liner is made from 50-denier brushed polyester. The bag's insulation is a mix of both 650-fill power duck down and man made Stratus Loft 100 g/m. The bag has a built in hood and comes with a compression bag and a very large heavy duty stuff bag. The M-3D is designed to be used with a mattress and has built in mattress pad sleeves to keep you from slipping off the mattress. A mattress will definitely be needed as there is very little insulation built into the floor of the bag. A large pillow pocket is built to accommodate almost any sized pillow or combination of multiple pillows, a really nice feature. The interior of the bag features two stash pockets to help keep small items organized. Without a doubt this is the largest and most roomy bag you can find at this weight limit. I own many body hugging mummy style bags they are great for back- packing but not so great for comfort and are by design very restrictive. I feel that the Omni Core Designs -10 Deg F sleeping bag is best suited for RV and or campground use. I also believe that the -10 F Deg rating is wildly optimistic. I would personally rate it around 35 to 40 Degrees F and below that temperature I would have to layer up or want to add another layer of blankets. The foot of the bag opens by way of a short zipper the overlaps the main zipper. This is a bad design and very difficult to try and force the foot zipper around the bottom corner and over the long zipper. The size of the bag is great for it's weight but I am concerned about it's long term durability. I will be using this bag in my camper and I would gladly trade a little extra weight for heaver material and some extra insulation in the bottom of the bag. I would recommend this bag for campground and or RV camping only. As a price point versus weight and size go this bag is a good buy. I would not recommend it for backpacking nor below zero temperatures.
The first thing I loved about this sleeping bag is that it doesn't have the typical tapered foot section! While I love how warm normal mummy bags are, I hate how restrictive they feel, especially for my feet. This bag has lots of foot room. I also love little details like the pocket for a pillow (or just clothes), the straps for the sleeping mat to fit in, little pockets at the top of the bag (for things like a phone), and vents for the feet if you get a little too warm. It's December in Montana so I wasn't too eager to try out the bag, but my husband was! He slept on the cement patio outside while it was snowing, but it was only down to 20 degrees F, so no testing it down to -10 unfortunately this time. But he slept very comfortably all night in this bag. He was toasty warm, almost too warm, in just a tshirt and sweat pants. The only thing he didn't like about the bag, was that while the extra little zippers on top are nice for getting in/out and putting your arms out to grab something, they moved way too easily. So sometimes if he moved a little they would unzip and it was cold. Another is that the zipper down the side comes undone too easily. He unzipped it to get in, but it actually came detached (like totally unzipped) very easily and he had a hard time getting it back together without totally getting out of the bag. The bag does compress fairly well, but it certainly isn't a super lightweight backpacking bag (but better than a lot of other super warm, and heavy, bags). It also comes with a mesh bag to keep it in when you aren't using it, to keep it from getting too compressed over time, which was a nice surprise! Overall, we like it, and it will be added to our camping adventures when it's still cold out!
I received the Omnicore multi down sleeping bag from Spark Review for my fair and honest opinion. I found out quite quickly that my husband and I are allergic to down; evidenced by multiple sneezing and sniffling from the moment I opened the box! That's unfortunate because this bag is super warm. I wanted to give my review so I tried it out. I took it outside in 35 degree weather and quite windy. All zipped up and head enclosed I felt no wind and no cold air. One of the pluses supposedly is the ability to stand (the bottom unzips) and gather the bag around you and walk. Please don't try that. While I understand that you want to stay warm inside the bag, the bag is long and bulky. You will not be able to gather it all enough to be able to walk around with it wrapped around you. I couldn't and I don't think that 5 foot 7 is short and I don't believe I am weak. It's really that the bag is bulky if you are trying to bunch it up to walk. I believe it would be hazardous. One more thing I found is that my other sleeping bags have a lot of filling and are comfortable. This one is not padded much so that even on my carpeted floor it's not comfortable. It comes with a bag that I knew when I removed the bag that I was not going to be able to put it back into it! The plus is that it comes with another bag that is like a netted laundry bag. I rolled it up and put the sleeping bag in it! Less frustrating! All in all, if you are not allergic to down and you just want a bag that will keep you warm in cold weather (advertised as good to 30 degrees) this will work-you'll be warm but not too comfy on the ground. Bottom line is that you can purchase a sleeping bag that will keep you warm and also be more comfortable.
