Oneida® Set of 2 Stainless Steel Locking Tongs

I got these originally to try out on my new flat top grill. My concern was with the tips not being metal at first, but the package did say it was good for up to 550 degrees. After using them a few times I was pleasantly surprised at how well they held up and worked. I've used them on my regular BBQ grill and in the household kitchen as well. These are great for all cooking applications and with the locking option they store real well. Bottom line, great addition to my set of cooking tools.

These Oneida Stainless Steel Locking Set of 2 Tongs have a soft silicone grips on them. Of course with the Oneida brand you get lifetime warranty so that's always good, but you also get good quality also. With this 2 piece set you get the long tongs and the short ones. The long ones work best when you need more space between you and what your cooking, like if you're frying or boiling and the short ones are good for when you need more control. I love that the tips are silicone so they don't scratch my nonstick pans. And both sets lock so they take up less drawer space:)

These times work really well not only for grilling but for tossing food or serving salad, picking up hot items, turning meat on the grill, assembling burgers, tossing fries, etc. There are two sizes that work well for multiple projects and meal prep. I use them all the time. Great addition to my kitchen.

The Oneida® Set of 2 Locking Tongs works as they should. I like that they have silicone on the tips so that they do not scratch my non stick pans. They lock easily and the Locking tab is not flimsy like some are. They come in two different sizes. There is a 9-inch and a 12in sizes to handle multiple kitchen tasks. The silicone is heat resistant to 450 degrees and they are also dishwasher safe and come with a lifetime warranty. They are made of durable stainless steel. I would definitely recommend the Oneida set of 2 laughing Tongs to my family and friends.

I received my Oneida Locking Tongs from the Spark Reviewer Program. We have already used these tongs on the grill, and the stove top. The silicone head comes in handy when using them in our non-stick frying pan! My initial concern was the silicone head melting, but we had absolutely no issues. These Oneida tongs handle very nicely. You don't lose your grip, and they actually look pretty sharp. They are heat resistant up to 450 degrees. And are dishwasher safe. This was a 2 pack, 9.5'', and 12'' tongs. We obviously used the 12'' for the grill, perfect size. They also have a lifetime warranty. Very impressed. Very satisfied, and we would definitely recommend these Oneida Locking Tongs.

I have a weird obsession with tongs - I just love using them for almost anything I cook. But a lot of time they're cheap and/or scratch my cooking surfaces. I also disklike when they're all aluminum without the black nonstick parts because they start to bend and are usually just plain weak. These tongs ar great! They have the black nonstick surface I like, they are strong and sturdy, they have a good locking mechanism at the top to keep them closed and I love that they come in two different sizes. I will be able to throw away some of my cheaper ones and use these instead.

There are two tongs in the set, one is 14" long, the other 10.75". They have a locking mechanism control at the top and a hanger. (See photo 1) The ends are silicon tipped heat resistant to 450 degrees F and wont damage non-stick surfaces. The are great for stirring or flipping. (Photo 2)

I absolutely love the fact they lock making storing them in a drawer so much easier than standard tongs. The little piece on the end pulls out to release and open them, push it back in and they lock closed which is fantastic. I would have given 5 stars but the tips get very slick so somethings are difficult to pick up but that doesn't take too much away.

I really like the black on metal. This is ideal for any kitchen decor. the only thing I don't like about it is that the very top of it, is not metal encased with the silicone, it's just straight up silicone. So it's really soft at the top. So far they're holding up very well. My other ones were getting rusty. I used tongs for just about everything. These are definitely a must-have kitchen utensil.

For quite some time I've been using a set of tongs (different brand) like these almost every day. They were getting a little battered and bruised so I thought I would give the Oneida Set of 2 Locking Tongs a try. I cook pretty much every day for my wife and I, use tongs on many different cooking jobs, including cooking for up to 50+ people once a month. Moving food around with tongs, once they are mastered, is much easier, cleanlier and safer. Pros: Good ergonomic design and are comfortable to hold/use. Made of stainless steel. Silicone heads can handle higher heats used in cooking and BBQ. Spring and lock/unlock mechanism function well. Dishwasher safe. Comes with a warranty. Cons: As I have used another brand for over 10 years, and still use them weekly, it was easy to make a comparison. I found that the Oneida stainless steel is thinner, the riveting is weaker, the silicone pads are softer, and overall construction of these tongs is of a lower quality. My concerns are the longevity of these tongs. I use tongs constantly and am hard on utensils. Overall, these tongs appear to be satisfactory for limited use, not continual everyday use. Over time I do not feel they will hold up in the long run. There is no way to know other than to keep using them and see what the results are. Additionally, do not use these tongs to move around charcoal in your grill, the charcoal is at a higher temp than the suggested heat range of the tongs. I cannot recommend these tongs for heavy, spirited use in cooking or BBQ. Thank you.
