Onkyo C7030 Compact Disc Player

Nice solid, well-built unit. It's replacing an old Adcom 5 disc player. Not sure if the sound quality is quite as good as my previous Adcom - wish I could test them side by side, but my old unit gave up the ghost. I do miss being able to load multiple cds - especially while listening to another, but I'll adapt.

Old fashioned component CD player. Fits into a full-sized stereo component system. Only plays one CD at a time. But sounds great and allows use of all those old music CDs.

I was useing our aging DVDs player for our C/D collection and was missing the true sound that I wanted . This Onkyo player let us discover music again granted it is a single player it is a very good one .Besides it did not cost a lot to get a quality unit that is intended to just play CDs

I was so pleased that this design of disc player was not only still available but so filled with the features I wanted. It replaces a very old unit that failed several months ago. To replace it, we bought a combination Sony DVD/CD player that was half the cost of this one but a piece of junk on all levels. I am relieved that you had what I was looking for, and on sale!

The Onkyo C-7030 CD player is very nice stereo equipment at a very reasonable price. I purchased this unit to replace an older system. I will have to say, this disc player is great, it will play my mp3 discs as well as the older discs in my collection. The sound of the music is superior to the old unit. The remote control is very easy to use and looks expensive. I would certainly recommend this disc player.

I am more than pleased with the sound reproduced by this CD player. I did not realize how many of the sound frequencies I was not hearing until I listened to orchestral music with this CD player. The crispness and clarity of the notes played by each instrument can now be heard. A nice feature of this player is the volume control knob for the headphone jack. And I can also listen to CD's on my headphones without having to turn on the tuner/amplifier and speakers. This is a welcome replacement for my old CD changer which quit after many, many years of use.

It a world where everyone wants a five or six CD-changer, it is nice to find a high-quality single disc player like this one!

This is a well built CD player with decent performance for the price. However, the sound is a notch below my Nakamichi OMS 7 player which is over 20 years old. The Nak sounds more focused, bass is tighter and highs are cleaner. I kind of expected a current player to perform better that a machine from so many years ago - not the case here. I have to note that the Nak cost almost 10 times as much as this Onkyo. So, you do have to pay a lot to get a slight improvement in performance. BTW, I noticed that the Onkyo will not play any CDs that are slightly scratched - the Nak has no problem but the same CD will not play on the Onkyo - will skip and then stop altogether.

I did a lot of shopping and comparing specs before purchasing this player. But when I got it and read the manual there was a sheet announcing new specs that were worse than were before. When I contacted the company support the rep. didn't have an answer and didn't get back to me like he said he would.

the unit quit working after 6 months . I called support and they were no help at all . The unit was defective .
