I like the receiver. I have an important point I'd like to make regarding shopping online with Walmar. My credit card information has been compromised multiple times in the past 4 months, twice in the past two days, two separate cards. The second time was a credit card I haven't used in 8 months. I made 4 purchases, 3 at self serve checkouts and the fourth was online through Walmart. The online purchase was made earlier in the day, by that evening my credit card company sent me a text regarding two fraudulent charges on my card, the one I hadn't used for 8 months. The only online charge was through Walmart online. So please be careful if you use their site and if you do shop online through them and your card information is compromised, please contact Walmart and file a complaint, which I have done.
This was a huge upgrade from my old Onkyo TX-SR304 from 2006. WiFi has made it easy to play music from my phone, etc. The display also shows what song is playing and the on tv screen music player is helpful. I also don't have to turn on my receiver separately when turning on my TV they both just come on and go off together. Plenty of power too. My old Onkyo, still in great shape, moved to the bedroom.

Excellent! I have 7 speakers plus sub. The sound I was looking for.
quality product
I had a Onkyo TXNR 797 that suffered a lightning strike fried my HDMI inputs so I had no other choice but to replace my receiver I chose the Onkyo TXNR7100 so far I'm completely satisfied it's a marvel especially with the DIRAC calibration feature this item definitely serves me well this is my third Onkyo A/V receiver
Onkyo simply makes a great product.
THE PROS: This is my fourth Onkyo AVR and it's another winner: great sound, connectivity with more than ample power to drive my Polk ES20's , ES30's, and 2-SVS SB-2000 subwoofers. The Onkyo TX-NR7100 is the heart of a really great sourround system! THE CONS: I did find initial setup needlessly complicated as this is the first AVR I had to connect to the internet to run room correction where my three previous models only required plugging in the room correction microphone and all the adjustments were made by the receiver. Also, my previous units were installed with an optical cable between the AVR and the TV. This receiver does not permit of the optical cable/HDMI combination so using my TV as my switching hub for the DVR, DVD/BluRay, AppleTV, PC was not an option. I really dislike being forced into installation configurations that offer me absolutely no benefit.
great receiver, but the servers for dirac are randomly down and no communication as to when they will be or are restored. onkyo needs to invest in its customer support and relations teams.
The receiver seems under powered and has to be turned up so high to play music it causes distortion. It's good for movies, but only fair for music if you like it loud.
