Big bang from little tablet

skaizun July 11, 2020

The ONN 10.1" Tablet Pro with Android (model 100003562) is 6-1/2" x 9-1/2" x 5/16", with the actual viewing area being 5-1/4" x 8-1/2", respectively (obviously, the depth doesn't come into play for viewing!). The box says it has a 2.0 ghz processor, 32 gb storage (slot for external storage), and 3 gb ram, weighing 1 lb 1-1/4 ozs (light, but, solid feel). It came with the tablet, a brief (thank goodness!) instruction booklet, a charger, and a cord to connect the two. It has a one year limited warranty from Walmart. It also came with a few coupons and pre-loaded software for Walmart, et al., that I will, probably, never use. After following the instructions (charge fully (unit came 61% charged; took about 1-1/2 hrs to get to full charge), run through setup (virtually automatic steps, except for the logon to my home wi-fi network), and answer a few questions/options), I was up and running, able to take pictures (at one point, I, accidentally, zoomed in on a billboard, and was stunned at how much detail it picked up that I couldn't see with my naked eyes!), listen to music (crystal clear!), and access my Google Gmail (you must have a free Google account to use some of the tablet's functions and, of course, to access Google Gmail). After a few minutes of use, I noticed a lot of fingerprints on the tablet, so, I wiped it, gently, with a dry microfiber cloth (the kind you get from an optometrist, but, any non-abrasive cloth will do (don't use any kind of sponge!)), then, carefully, put clear, adhesive, contact "paper" over it, being careful to avoid the camera lens. The tablet handled the added layer, easily, with no loss of contact between my finger and tablet. After "playing" with the tablet for a little over an hour, I was surprised to see that I used only 3% of the battery! Speaking of which, I cannot determine whether the battery is replaceable, as there does not seem to be a slot or openning for it, so, I'm guessing that it would have to be taken to Walmart or returned to ONN for a new battery or tablet (or just use it with the power cord attached for all eternity!). I haven't tried adding any other apps, but, I'll get around to it, and I'm sure they'll work just fine (I can, finally, take advantage of some dining and retail freebies!). I'll admit that, as experienced a computer user as I am (over 40 years as a computer programmer and computer repairman), this will take a bit of getting used to (I keep having trouble finding the 'Settings' page!), as it is my first tablet, but, I'm sure I will get used to it, and get a lot of use and enjoyment from it!

Great for work and surfing!

BurgerBot April 1, 2021

I am writing this on the onn. 10.1" Tablet Pro with a cheap bluetooth keyboard linked. They work great together and I haven't seen any lag or interference whatsoever. The tablet itself is not the fastest but it is close. If you're looking for something that you can work and surf with this is it. The charge and usage times are quite good and for that reason I am going to keep using this for my work and general internet use. The photos I've submitted for this review were taken with the 5 MP rear camera. For the price point this is a steal!

It is a beauty and worth it!

Sctsgrl May 7, 2020

The tablet Pro is amazing! I was excited just by reading the specification and the apps outlined on the back of the box, there were apps already placed on it! This has a 10 inch screen, no border at all just a large screen!. The screen is clear and the clarity is so clear it is almost too much! When I go onto the social media sites I am just in awe at the visual definition and the detail of every site, video and advertisement etc. on those sites. I can see that no corners were cut with this tablet at all! It is very easy to start up. You can easily follow the on screen prompts and the quick sheet right on the front of the tablet. I would say it took me about 30 minutes, at the most to go from box to first time usage. That usage included uploading video, sharing pictures, and putting additional apps on the tablet. You may add your bluetooth devices or even add it to your exercise equipment. I feel confident using this tablet, empowered actually because it is seamless to do what I feel is important to me and it looks and sounds great. I feel great taking this to work, using it at home, or an event, wherever I want because it is that nice! The battery life is long lasting. The touchscreen works seamlessly as well. I am going to purchase a tablet cover to prevent any accidents or reduce any mishaps. I would recommend this tablet! absolutely. I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program.

Very nice 10 inch tablet by Onn.

Fishingmomma January 31, 2021

I received this tablet and was really shocked at how nice, reactive, easy to use and worth the price it was. I had really never thought of buying a non-brand name tablet, tv or sound bar. I had previously bought a Onn. Tv, and it has been great compared to the Lg tv I paid double for and it only lasted a year until it just wouldn't turn on. So, I had previous luck with this brand. The tablet is light weight, so easy to operate. It isn't loaded down with junk apps and the one's it does have can be disabled or uninstalled. That's great in my book. It loads quickly, can handle multiple pages being opened at the same time. It is just really nice and very easy to maneuver through the tablet and set it up to your preferences. And I love that the cable to charge it with is Not that awful micro usb cable samsung uses on their phones, It's the same cable Motorola uses, the USB type C. It's so much to plug up and charge.

Great lower cost tablet

Vigdis July 14, 2020

Summary: Despite a few minor issues, this is a really great tablet with an amazing display/sound and an up-to-date OS. Finding a case is a big challenge, but I am very happy with this tablet. I was pleasantly surprised by this tablet! It's a mid range Android 10 tablet. Some reviewers seemed disappointed that it's not like an iPad, but it's also a third of the price of an iPad, and intended for a totally different consumer. I quite like Android 10, and I love this size of tablet. It's large enough to enjoy videos and magazines, but not difficult to hold for long periods. The instruction sticker on the screen is smart, and the instruction book that comes in the box is really useful if technology is unfamiliar. It's full of practical help. The screen is lovely. It is crisp and the colors stand out beautifully. That was the biggest surprise to me, along with the sound from the speakers. The speakers may just sound better than my phone speakers. I really didn't expect this. Another nice surprise is that it supports 5ghz wifi. It also has some features like protected files and the screen can come on when you pick up the tablet. There is no bloatware (in my opinion) on the tablet, which is nice. There are 4 Walmart related apps, which can all be disabled (and the Grocery one is obsolete), and the device test app that cannot be disabled (see below). The layout of the tablet is nice. I am so glad it has all 3 buttons at the bottom, even though it was Android 10 out of the box. The menus otherwise are pretty standard Android. There is a USB C charger and a headphone jack. There's also an SD card slot, although after downloading my apps, music, and books, there is still 22 GB of space available. The battery life has been good. It came almost fully charged. After setting it up and using it, and having it sit on overnight, it's still at 70%. My current tablet drains quickly on standby, so this is nice. So far it has been snappy and smooth. I'm really quite pleased and expect I'll be passing down my current tablet in favor of this one. Cons/thinks to consider: The biggest con is that it is impossible to find a case for this thing. The camera and buttons are not in the same location as the first gen Onn tablet, so I have not found a single case out there that fits. It's interesting that there are slots for a keyboard to be attached to this tablet, but I haven't seen that out there either. I ordered a universal case, since I'm not too likely to use the back camera anyway. Technically this isn't really a feature of the tablet, but it is important. Other cons would be that there is a built in device test app that crashes as soon as it's opened. It cannot be disabled and permissions cannot be removed. It would be a useful app and it does make me slightly nervous to have an app I can't use or control, but it's not one that I would use regularly. The button placement is a little odd. The buttons are all on one edge, which is nice, but the default portrait direction puts the buttons at the bottom edge. Normally you can just rotate it, but some apps will only use the single direction. The speaker placement also means you're likely to have your hand over the bottom speaker at times. Neither is a big deal though. I did have issues with the Walmart app updating. There is a separate Grocery app that is now obsolete, and it was sending me in circles, but the Walmart app just needed to be updated. It had an error every time the update would install. I solved this by disabling the Walmart app and then enabling and updating. Some might find the Walmart button to be a con, but I actually don't mind it. You can't remove the Walmart apps unless you disable them, but you can add other (not any) apps to that button, so I disabled the ones I don't use and use that button as a favorites shortcut for apps I use a lot but don't want cluttering my home screen. Plus I actually do use the Walmart app regularly.

Very good.

Valeria January 30, 2021

The onn 10.1 Tablet Pro is awesome. I was very impressed with sleek and lightweight design. The clarity of the screen and crispness of the colors really jump out to you. It has a sleek look with easy to access buttons. It's wide screen makes it suitable for reading and watching videos with comfort. The screen is clear and the clarity is so clear it is almost too much! When I go onto the social media sites I am just in awe at the visual definition and the detail of every site. I can see that no corners were cut with this tablet at all. It is very easy to start up. I would say it took me about 15 minutes, at the most to go from box to first time usage. The price is very competitive with similar tablets with comparable systems and hardware. Tablet comes with easy to use user manual, AC adapter, and USB type- C charging cable. The 10.1" screen is a nice size and the 2.0ghz Octa Core processor works well for this device. The front and rear cameras work good. I really like is the ability to insert a larger SD card to increase the ability to increase the storage capacity as needed is a great feature. I haven't tested it on games, but YouTube is going great. Overall, this is a great tablet for surfing the web. I tried looking for a keyboard with a stand for it, but it has been hard to find. Nonetheless I'm pleased with the product. The battery life is long lasting. The touchscreen works seamlessly as well. I would recommend this tablet absolutely.

Outstanding Tablet!

Mcarthurdw September 3, 2020

I have reviewed and purchased a number of Onn products, I was a bit hesitant when I first tried this brand as it was new to me. But I must admit, every Onn product I have purchased or reviewed has been excellent, I am happy to say that this tablet is no exception this is a fantastic device, that meets and exceeds all my needs. I'm able to play my games and watch videos. The Video and Audio are amazing. Speed is great able to browse sites at decent speeds. While it doesn't perform like a laptop, I can't complain. It is replacing an older Samsung Tablet, and out preforms it hands down. The camera quality is very good. And is at least as good as that of my Galaxy + 9S phone, if not better.. The battery life is quite impressive, and I was surprised at how quickly it recharges. The screen resolution is excellent, very clear. The storage space is more than adequate, I have hundreds of songs and it holds them all. As I have said, I have yet to find an Onn product that was not as good or better than the big names brands for a lot less money. From TV's to Tablets, you cannot go wrong with this brand.

Great 10.1" tablet for the money

Bigsirus May 11, 2020

i have owned a few tables from more expensive to cheaper and this one ranks up on the higher end. The 10.1" screen is a nice size and the 2.0ghz Octa Core processor works well for this device. The 3 gigs of ram makes opening web pages a breeze. Setting up the table could not have been any easier with the step by step setup. I was up and running in a matter of minutes. It has a sleek look with easy to access buttons. It has decent sound but i would not say it's DJ quality. The front and rear cameras work good One thing i really like is the ability to insert a larger SD card to increase the storage capacity. Not that i came close to filling the 32 gigs of storage, but the ability to increase as needed is a great feature! Overall, this is a great tablet for surfing the web. I have been using it for zoom calls and there is no lag at all. I would recommend for the average surfer!

Good Deal if You're A Google User

ChrisCNY September 2, 2020

First let me say I'm a "casual" tablet user - web browsing, streaming Hulu, checking email is about it for me. No games, don't take photos so that's how I'm going to review this. The tablet is light, slim, easy to handle and has a bright screen. Before I got this, I looked for reviews of this tablet and everyone complained about finger prints. I haven't experienced that problem and haven't put a screen cover on it yet. Setup was simple. Wifi detected easily (you can also connect to a hot spot), privacy and security options presented at the start and option to sign into your Google account to access all your account features - email, drive, etc. If you don't have a Google account, you can create one - but if don't want to be part of the Google eco-system, about the only thing you'll be able to do with this tablet is browse the web. You can't download apps without an account. There's a search box for quick web searches or you can use the built in Chrome browser. Video quality was good/no issues streaming. Just for the heck of it, I took a photo. It was okay quality/not as sharp as my camera. There's a forward facing camera for video conferencing and thanks to the not so great camera, I looked pretty good! Also took some videos and found the quality was pretty decent/better than stills. For my purposes, battery life has been fine. Depending on what I'm doing I can certainly get a full day's use out of one charge. I do charge it every night. Note that this uses a type C USB connector/not the micro USB connector.

Not Worth the Low Price

Rentaro June 5, 2020

just don't buy this tablet, the only upside was that it ran android 10 but the negatives outway the one positive thing about the device. the tablet comes preloaded with walmart apps and Google apps that can't be uninstalled but can be disabled. uninstalling them would remove all trace of them and free up space but disabling them allows it to stay on the device and eat up storage.
