Customer Insights: Rated 4.0/5 from 935 reviews.
i have owned a few tables from more expensive to cheaper and this one ranks up on the higher end. The 10.1" screen is a nice size and the 2.0ghz Octa Core processor works well for this device. The 3 gigs of ram makes opening web pages a breeze. Setting up the table could not have been any easier with the step by step setup. I was up and running in a matter of minutes. It has a sleek look with easy to access buttons. It has decent sound but i would not say it's DJ quality. The front and rear cameras work good One thing i really like is the ability to insert a larger SD card to increase the storage capacity. Not that i came close to filling the 32 gigs of storage, but the ability to increase as needed is a great feature! Overall, this is a great tablet for surfing the web. I have been using it for zoom calls and there is no lag at all. I would recommend for the average surfer!
I have reviewed and purchased a number of Onn products, I was a bit hesitant when I first tried this brand as it was new to me. But I must admit, every Onn product I have purchased or reviewed has been excellent, I am happy to say that this tablet is no exception this is a fantastic device, that meets and exceeds all my needs. I'm able to play my games and watch videos. The Video and Audio are amazing. Speed is great able to browse sites at decent speeds. While it doesn't perform like a laptop, I can't complain. It is replacing an older Samsung Tablet, and out preforms it hands down. The camera quality is very good. And is at least as good as that of my Galaxy + 9S phone, if not better.. The battery life is quite impressive, and I was surprised at how quickly it recharges. The screen resolution is excellent, very clear. The storage space is more than adequate, I have hundreds of songs and it holds them all. As I have said, I have yet to find an Onn product that was not as good or better than the big names brands for a lot less money. From TV's to Tablets, you cannot go wrong with this brand.
I have been in the market to replace my aging android 6.0 edition tablet for a few months now. Most of the apps would no longer update and had become obsolete and useless. When I came across the Onn 10.1 edition I was very impressed with sleek and lightweight design it offered. Commanding a 32 GB storeage with micro SD slot and 2 GHz Octio-core processor and 3 GB Ram with 10.1 LCD touchscreen. The ease of set up was great with the pairing of my old tablet to download my current applications to my new Onn tablet. The clarity of the screen and crispness of the colors really jump out to you. The speed of interaction is a welcomed asset. I would highly recommend this tablet for anyone looking to get a replacement unit or for their very first tablet. The price is very competitive with similar tablets with comparable systems and hardware. Tablet comes with easy to use user manual, AC adapter, and USB type- C charging cable. I am very satisfied with this tablet!
The onn 10.1 Tablet Pro is awesome. I was very impressed with sleek and lightweight design. The clarity of the screen and crispness of the colors really jump out to you. It has a sleek look with easy to access buttons. It's wide screen makes it suitable for reading and watching videos with comfort. The screen is clear and the clarity is so clear it is almost too much! When I go onto the social media sites I am just in awe at the visual definition and the detail of every site. I can see that no corners were cut with this tablet at all. It is very easy to start up. I would say it took me about 15 minutes, at the most to go from box to first time usage. The price is very competitive with similar tablets with comparable systems and hardware. Tablet comes with easy to use user manual, AC adapter, and USB type- C charging cable. The 10.1" screen is a nice size and the 2.0ghz Octa Core processor works well for this device. The front and rear cameras work good. I really like is the ability to insert a larger SD card to increase the ability to increase the storage capacity as needed is a great feature. I haven't tested it on games, but YouTube is going great. Overall, this is a great tablet for surfing the web. I tried looking for a keyboard with a stand for it, but it has been hard to find. Nonetheless I'm pleased with the product. The battery life is long lasting. The touchscreen works seamlessly as well. I would recommend this tablet absolutely.
This tablet is very easy to set up and use straight from the box. As soon as you open it the directions are right on the screen of the tablet, so you don't have to search on how to set it up! Sooo handy!! It comes tightly secured with a charging cable and plug. All you really have to buy is a case for it if you need so. It does say to charge it immediately before you try and set it up. That made things a lot easier to do. Also, setting it up took only a few minutes and it walks you through it. It is an Android so you can add more storage and you can also add a lot of apps. It's a pretty decent size at 10.1”. We have watched movies, shows, played games, taken pictures, etc. Its extremely efficient, there is no lagging and the battery lasts a long time. It has Bluetooth and wifi capability. This tablet is a very great starter tablet. My kids love it and it has kept their interest for a few days now so that's a great plus!
Summary: Despite a few minor issues, this is a really great tablet with an amazing display/sound and an up-to-date OS. Finding a case is a big challenge, but I am very happy with this tablet. I was pleasantly surprised by this tablet! It's a mid range Android 10 tablet. Some reviewers seemed disappointed that it's not like an iPad, but it's also a third of the price of an iPad, and intended for a totally different consumer. I quite like Android 10, and I love this size of tablet. It's large enough to enjoy videos and magazines, but not difficult to hold for long periods. The instruction sticker on the screen is smart, and the instruction book that comes in the box is really useful if technology is unfamiliar. It's full of practical help. The screen is lovely. It is crisp and the colors stand out beautifully. That was the biggest surprise to me, along with the sound from the speakers. The speakers may just sound better than my phone speakers. I really didn't expect this. Another nice surprise is that it supports 5ghz wifi. It also has some features like protected files and the screen can come on when you pick up the tablet. There is no bloatware (in my opinion) on the tablet, which is nice. There are 4 Walmart related apps, which can all be disabled (and the Grocery one is obsolete), and the device test app that cannot be disabled (see below). The layout of the tablet is nice. I am so glad it has all 3 buttons at the bottom, even though it was Android 10 out of the box. The menus otherwise are pretty standard Android. There is a USB C charger and a headphone jack. There's also an SD card slot, although after downloading my apps, music, and books, there is still 22 GB of space available. The battery life has been good. It came almost fully charged. After setting it up and using it, and having it sit on overnight, it's still at 70%. My current tablet drains quickly on standby, so this is nice. So far it has been snappy and smooth. I'm really quite pleased and expect I'll be passing down my current tablet in favor of this one. Cons/thinks to consider: The biggest con is that it is impossible to find a case for this thing. The camera and buttons are not in the same location as the first gen Onn tablet, so I have not found a single case out there that fits. It's interesting that there are slots for a keyboard to be attached to this tablet, but I haven't seen that out there either. I ordered a universal case, since I'm not too likely to use the back camera anyway. Technically this isn't really a feature of the tablet, but it is important. Other cons would be that there is a built in device test app that crashes as soon as it's opened. It cannot be disabled and permissions cannot be removed. It would be a useful app and it does make me slightly nervous to have an app I can't use or control, but it's not one that I would use regularly. The button placement is a little odd. The buttons are all on one edge, which is nice, but the default portrait direction puts the buttons at the bottom edge. Normally you can just rotate it, but some apps will only use the single direction. The speaker placement also means you're likely to have your hand over the bottom speaker at times. Neither is a big deal though. I did have issues with the Walmart app updating. There is a separate Grocery app that is now obsolete, and it was sending me in circles, but the Walmart app just needed to be updated. It had an error every time the update would install. I solved this by disabling the Walmart app and then enabling and updating. Some might find the Walmart button to be a con, but I actually don't mind it. You can't remove the Walmart apps unless you disable them, but you can add other (not any) apps to that button, so I disabled the ones I don't use and use that button as a favorites shortcut for apps I use a lot but don't want cluttering my home screen. Plus I actually do use the Walmart app regularly.
The 10.1 Onn Tablet Pro with Android is a nice size. As soon as you open the box there are a few grocery and discount coupons available for use. The tablet has a removable plastic with setup instructions directly plastered to the front of the screen. The 5 MP front and rear facing cameras are mediocre, it's nothing to be wowed by. The camera self adjusts for you as you try to take a picture. This is definitely not a tablet you'll be taking pictures with. This tablet comes with a 1 amp charger which means it doesn't charge the tablet in a flash. The down side about the included charger is that the charging cord is only 3.2ft long. It's super short. This 10.1 Tablet Pro comes with 32 GB of storage and comes with a microSD slot to expand storage. There is a good weight to this device and the back panel isn't plastic, which is a plus because plastic would have made this device feel hot quicker while in use. There's a keyboard dock connector, but this tablet did not come with a keyboard. The dual speakers are located at the top of the device and the speakers actually sound good. On the right bottom side of this 10.1 Tablet Pro is a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones. The screen on this tablet is pretty decent, it is pretty much viewable from different angles. A down side with the screen is that fingerprints are terribly noticable. One of the main things I like is that this tablet has bluetooth 4.2 built in so I was able to connect my wireless earpiece without issues. Netflix and Vudu movies stream well on this device, there's absolutely no delays and everything loaded quickly. Overall I think this would be an good starter tablet for kids and elementary up to middle school students. For adults this would make a great tablet for streaming videos. Definitely not for office work even if a keyboard was included. It's a basic tablet.
First let me say I'm a "casual" tablet user - web browsing, streaming Hulu, checking email is about it for me. No games, don't take photos so that's how I'm going to review this. The tablet is light, slim, easy to handle and has a bright screen. Before I got this, I looked for reviews of this tablet and everyone complained about finger prints. I haven't experienced that problem and haven't put a screen cover on it yet. Setup was simple. Wifi detected easily (you can also connect to a hot spot), privacy and security options presented at the start and option to sign into your Google account to access all your account features - email, drive, etc. If you don't have a Google account, you can create one - but if don't want to be part of the Google eco-system, about the only thing you'll be able to do with this tablet is browse the web. You can't download apps without an account. There's a search box for quick web searches or you can use the built in Chrome browser. Video quality was good/no issues streaming. Just for the heck of it, I took a photo. It was okay quality/not as sharp as my camera. There's a forward facing camera for video conferencing and thanks to the not so great camera, I looked pretty good! Also took some videos and found the quality was pretty decent/better than stills. For my purposes, battery life has been fine. Depending on what I'm doing I can certainly get a full day's use out of one charge. I do charge it every night. Note that this uses a type C USB connector/not the micro USB connector.
This is a tough review to do because I wasn't impressed at first. But then after working with it for a while and customizing it to my liking, I have grown to like it and it is actually a pretty decent tablet if you keep your expectations in check. This is the latest iteration of this tablet. This one comes with Android 11. That's the good part. The display, though full HD, is mediocre at best. It's not IPS and the viewing angle are not good. But this is a tablet and you're not going to watch it from angles. It has no coating to keep fingerprints at bay so keep a microfiber cloth handy or get a screen protector and you should be ok. You'll really notice the fingerprints in light rooms. The back is aluminium and has a rough feel but you get use to it. Let's look at the software. You have the little Walmart icon on the navigation bar. It brings up a few Walmart apps. On previous versions this was the only bloatware on the device. On this new one when you swipe left of the home page you're greeted with what you think is ad city. What the heck is this? Google in it's infinite wisdom has teemed up with some tablet manufactures to give us “Entertainment Space”. Oh glory be. It's like having Google TV on your Tablet. A whole page of dishing you movies and TV to buy and watch, along with games from the play store and books from Google or other accounts you may have. It's basically a media content aggregator. This takes the place of where Google discovery use to be. For more info do a search for “google entertainment space” and you'll find a blog that gives you all the information you need on this (Notice that Netflix isn't a provider as Google and Netflix love to fight). So Walmart is marketing this as a media consumption device. And if that's what you want it for, the Entertainment Space actually works pretty good for that. So don't knock it till you tried it. Now me personally, I don't watch TV and movies on a Tablet. I have a TV for that. So luckily there is a way to get rid of it. The easiest way is to go to setting/apps, find Entertainment space and disable it. Walla, it's gone and you won't see it again. Another way is to install a different launcher. And if you want to get rid of the Walmart navigation icon I suggest using swipe navigation. There, all your bloatware is gone. In fact since using swipe navigation on my phone the past last year, I can't live without it. So learn how to use it an you'll thank me later. One of the nice things about Android 11 is the ability to use swipe navigation with other launchers. In Android 10, any time you used a 3rd party launcher, swipe navigation was disabled. This has been fixed in 11. Yea!! My biggest grip about this tablet is this. Android apps aren't really made for landscape mode except for video. Most of my time is spent in portrait mode. The problem here is it seems like this tablet is upside down. There are some apps that only work in portrait mode and do not rotate. When you open these apps the only way to view them is with the volume and power buttons at the bottom. Open the camera and you'll see what I mean. When you open the camera app, in order to use it, the volume rocker is at the bottom. Even the camera lens is at the bottom. Ridiculous. How are you suppose to take a picture with the lens at the bottom? Have you ever seen a phone like this? Severe software blunder. I sure hope they fix it in an update because I'm tired of accidentally hitting the volume buttons when I'm using this table. The buttons and camera lens should be at the top. The sound does not get very loud on this but at least it's in stereo. Speed wise it's ok. Not super fast but doesn't lag and much better than another tablet in this price range by a well know brand that also makes clocks. You'll get 10 hours of battery life at 50 percent brightness. About half that at full. The good thing is that it quick charges. It will do a full charge in under two hours or less. For the price you really can't beat it. I'd gladly pay an extra $25 for a better display.
Set up was easy, you can import data settings from other devices via Bluetooth (in my case android phone) Out the box first thing noticeable is the screen is delicate and easily scratched. A screen protector is essential IMO. I've ordered the only dedicated screen protector I could find on the Walmart site as the store didn't have them, I used a cheap cut to size universal protector as a temp until it arrives which I made a complete mess of putting on the screen. The product guide that comes with the tablet specifies obtaining a screen protector and case. Once set up everything ran well. The screen has a good viewing angle radius, Apps start up very quickly and run without issue. I installed Netflix, Disney+ and the Spectrum TV app to test streaming. All run without any problems. It doesn't have the resolution to run ultra hd, but the picture is really sharp. The built in stereo speakers can be set loud, but are of tincan quality. Both Bluetooth and audio jack headphones work well and the sound quality was excellent with the sets I used. We don't have a Bluetooth speaker, so I can't comment on how it works with them, but PC speakers plugged into the audio jack worked perfectly. Browsing using google chrome was fine, all sites seem functional. The 5mp cameras front and back aren't that great, I would say entry level cheap phone quality. video recording seems to have a low frame rate so motion is not smooth. Photos taken indoors with artificial light are grainy, but with sunlight outside are okay. I tested video conference using Skype and the call itself was clear. Sound and video coming in was fine and my outgoing audio was fine the other end, the outgoing video was fine when I sat still, but moving around (turning my head, waving etc.) I was told the moving parts blurred, so the cameras are a let down on an otherwise sound product. I handed it to my teenagers to test the gaming. It seems games optimized for android devices run without issue. They tested "subway surf" "Bang dream" and "minecraft" The feedback I was given was that it was fine, which is high praise from my teenagers. There's minimal "bloatware" and plenty of storage to install apps which is good because we couldn't get it to install and run apps off of the SD card. Consider an SD card only as extra storage for photos or downloaded videos for Netflix etc. There's a 7pin docking connector for a detachable keyboard, but I couldn't find one on the Walmart site so I'm thinking that's a "to come at a later date" attachment option. From first full charge with all the setup, app installing, testing video streaming, video call, video and photo, internet surfing and gaming the device was running for about 6 hours of active use plus a couple of hours standby time in between and got to 22% remaining battery power, which I call impressive. I can see it having no problem achieving the promised 10 hour battery charge if it's only used for basic internet surfing. It's a stretch to call this a "pro" tablet, however overall it gives a heck of a lot of bang for the buck and I absolutely love it. Great for video streaming, android optimized games, general internet browsing and reading ebooks. Video calling is functional, but the cameras let it down a bit.
