7 in tablet Gen 2

nanamorgana April 27, 2021

I would recommend this product because it is a very handy product to carry with you to read books from or play your games you love. This is a 7 inch android tablet, you can check your mail or check on Facebook. It comes with an AC adapter plus a USB cable 3.2 feet long. Great color, has 8 hour battery life, and 16GB storage,

The Little Tablet that Could (mostly)

DAVCPA1982 May 2, 2021

The 7” surf onn Tablet Gen 2 is perfect for kids (if they're gentle) or grandma. It's a basic budget-friendly tablet that will admirably perform the vast majority of tasks or functions for which the average person would use a tablet. It comes loaded with Android 11 Go Edition and is great for surfing the web, checking emails, online shopping, communicating with friends and family, using social media, etc. For a tablet in this price range, the 7” surf onn Tablet Gen 2 has a lot going for it. The 7” 1024x600 screen is bright and responsive to the touch, the 2.0 GHz Quad-Core Processor loads and runs apps without issue, the 2 GB RAM is adequate for casual usage, and the battery life (advertised as 8 hours) is acceptable. Also, the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS have all functioned flawlessly. The 16 GB of storage is a bit on the small side, but it has a microSD slot so expanding that is no problem. Finally (and very importantly), it uses USB-C. This is a huge plus in my book. The cameras (2 MP front and back) aren't great. I'm far from a photographer, but even in my casual observation I could tell the pictures it took were a bit grainy and not high quality. Also, the speaker, which is on the back of tablet, is not that great. The maximum volume is not very loud and, when the tablet is laying on its back, the sound is rather muffled. It does come with a standard headphone jack; however, so I would suggest earphones if you use it to watch movies or listen to music. Net net this is a good little tablet. Overall, its features and performance are above average when compared to the other options in the same price range. This tablet will live up to your expectations - as long as your expectations are realistic.

Keep the kid entertained

Heavy May 1, 2021

For the price we could not beat it. Our kid kept taking off with our phone to play games. We didn't want her to have a phone at her age so we bought this tablet. The kids space feature is nice to set up limits of screen time and content. Set up took about 40 mins between account set up and games. There was not a lot of case options for this 7” tablet. Type c charger is way better than the old android micro charger Slot for micro sd card slot 2mp front and rear camera Easy to navigate Time to see how it holds up with a 6yr

Excellent quality, sturdy design

Bigrez May 1, 2021

When you first unbox it, there's a protective cover on the screen with printed startup instructions and identifiers to things like power, and volume buttons, mic, earphone, usb, and sd card inputs, camera and home screen button. This is a great touch! The tablet comes with a USB-C cable AND power adapter. So many devices lately are eliminating the power adapter. The textured back gives the device a little grip when holding it. I like that better than a smooth finish. It comes loaded with Android Go version 11. Checked for updates, because that's often needed, but it was already running the most recent version. My old eyes (58yrs but don't wear glasses) required me to set the initial font to largest. That still seems a little small, but usable. Then I found a display setting (Display Size) that made things perfect. The touch screen is very responsive and snappy. I did notice, just like on my phone, sometimes it'll react to an almost-touch. That is, it'll select an item without touching the screen be being very close. My phone is Android, so it's pretty cool that the two devices sync with google and I can easily share data between the two. I've loaded DirecTv, Netflix, HBOmax and been watching shows on those apps. The display is sharp and bright. It's very responsive and sports are sharp without any flickering or ghosts. I've been using this non-stop for several days to try and find any issues but just can't. Honestly, I wasn't too sure about the Onn brand before this item, but this tablet has shown me they sell some fantastic items.

Nice Little Tablet!

dhcatlady May 17, 2021

This particular model of tablet is the size I prefer, not too big but not as small as my smartphone. The screen resolution is clear and bright and all the features it has work well. Once you get used to where everything is, it's not hard to operate at all. I'm not a techy-kind of person and I have not used a tablet of my own in the past. Most are too large and too heavy that I have tried among my friends. But this one is a nice moderate size and is a bit lighter weight. So it works well for me, with larger text that is easy to read. All features and related text are so much larger than on my smartphone which is hard to use for texting due to the smallness of the key buttons. This is a lot easier due to the bigger size of all text and buttons. So for those with manual dexterity issues and vision limitations, this tablet works better for many things than most all smartphones and yet is smaller and easier to hold and carry than larger tablets.

Perfect on the go size

JudyInCT May 1, 2021

I tried the 7" Tablet and after getting used to all of the controls on it (home button, going back and forward, adding apps, etc...) it was fairly easy to use. I used it for all of my normal daily tasks like email, social media. Then I tried streaming services and app games. It works really well and the resolution is very good. Touch screen works good. Overall I had no issues with performance with this tablet. It did everything I would normally use a tablet for. I like the smaller size because I can put it in my purse and take it anywhere with me. The battery life lasted about as long as described (8 hrs). I'd say depending on what your using the tablet for, like games or streaming, you'll want to keep the charging cord handy. Other than that it's a really nice little tablet.

Ideal for Automotive Repairs and Kitchen Recipes

Kerry May 1, 2021

Sometimes you never know how much you really need a product, until you use it. This 7 inch tablet is just such an item. The screen is almost twice as large as my iPhone 6 screen yet I can still easily hold the tablet in one hand. The tablet was simple to set up. Once I fully charged it and connected to WiFi, I just followed the on screen prompts. I was able to opt out of anything that I wanted to so my privacy remained intact. Mozilla Firefox, Start Page and Proton Mail were available as free apps. The 7 inch tablet proved incredibly useful in my garage and workshop. The large screen makes it easier to repair my cars by allowing me to watch and pause YouTube videos under the hood. It has found a permanent home in my automotive toolbox. Then I had to buy another one for the kitchen. The 7 inch tablet also proved very useful in the kitchen. Recipes and instructions are easy to follow while both hands are free to prepare delicious meals. The tablet screen is easy to clean with a damp cloth; much easier than a keyboard or mouse. Grease, cake frosting, gravy and almost all other stains are easily wiped away. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars was because the battery is not replaceable. I expect to have this tablet 10 years or so and would like the option of replacing the battery before then.

Pleasantly surprised but not for the serious user.

Jonsride May 2, 2021

Wasn't sure what to expect as I am not a real Tech guy. Was pleasantly surprised about alot of the qualities and disappointed on a few. First the good. Very light weight, and super easy to set up. It just took a view minutes and everything from email accounts to apps were downloaded. And as I said not being a tech person, if I could find it easy, that is saying a lot. Also seems to have a fast processor and a good quality screen image. Love the large screen . Being older I found the large screen really nice. You can also stretch the image just like on a phone but the normal operation is larger than my cell phone. It came with a charger and has a headphone port too. I have a small business where I go to trade shows sometimes and plan to use this to operate my Point of Sale credit transactions. I now don't have to have everyone handling my cell phone . The camera is good but not stellar. Now for the not so good features. The lightness is great but not sure how sturdy this tablet will be. Doesn't have the feel of something solid. The speaker is subpar at best. For voice or games it is fine but with music the sound is tinny, poor quality and actually kind of hard to listen to. In my opinion , if you are not a hard user or a music lover, this would be a good buy for you. But if you are hard on your stuff or a audiophile it may not be the one for you. I do however recommend it .

Worthless

fallout125 May 11, 2021

This thing has the camera quality of a potato from the early 2000's. A few of the apps dont work because they refuse to update (yes its hooked up to wifi, other apps work fine), its mainly the entertainment app that wont work and the whole tablet loves to crash and restart. The speaker quality is absolute garbage and has the sound quality of a Simon says with absolutely no bass. Honestly you can only expect so much from a tablet that costs about the same as a couple bags of dog food. The tablet is also slower than my 10 year old iPad that's gotten slower with age. You could easily find an old iPad 2 like pictured with the Onn tablet for size comparison for about the same price used online and be way better off. Even if this thing was aimed more for kids ,even tho I dont see it because why would it need email and etc. for a kids tablet, you'd still be better off getting a used iPad for your kids to play with and break. The Onn tablet also feels like if you drop it once it will break. There is probably more that im forgetting on how bad this thing is but I think I made my point clear. This thing will be tossed into the back of the closet and forgotten about. Please dont waste your money. P.s. One positive thing.. it has a headphone jack.

Hate it overall!

Unhappymamma0202 August 26, 2021

Won't last long enough to matter. We owned two, one stopped charging within 3 months and the other one had a touch screen that stopped responding within 6 months.
