onn. Android TV 4K UHD Streaming Device with Voice Remote Control & HDMI Cable

This device is a smart buy for anyone that wants to upgrade to android tv functionality at a great price. Typically, I've been an Amazon Firestick user --mainly because of the lack of a physical remote for Android/Google TV. But now that Android TV has a real remote, I thought it was time to try it out to see how it compares. The Onn hardware seems to be very well made and I expect it will last a long time. The control box itself is a 2.75" by 2.75" square with rounded corners and is a little more than half an inch thick. It comes with an HDMI cord that's long enough to position the box anywhere you'd like behind your tv. The micro-usb power source that is provided is all in one piece (the cord and the plug cannot be separated, which feels kind of strange in this day and age) but it seems long enough for most setups and gets the job done. The remote is almost identical in size, shape, weight and feel to an Firestick 4k remote, yet it includes additional useful features/buttons that the fire doesn't have, including a tv input button (nice!), a favorites button that lets you add, remove or rearrange apps on the home screen, a settings button for easy access and 4 shortcut buttons to popular streaming services (YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max). The device setup was simple and straight forward by following the on-screen instructions after plugging everything in. During setup, a system update was required, which took around 5 minutes to download. For some reason, I couldn't get the remote to recognize my tv so that I couldn't use the volume and input buttons to control it. Perhaps my 42" LG is getting a little long in the tooth and missing some technology that allows auto detection. Anyway, I wouldn't expect everyone to have that issue. Once you're up and running, the interface is the same as you would expect on any device with Android TV. Scrolling through menus is smooth and loading times for apps are just as fast as similar devices. Overall, I'm very happy with this Onn streaming device, especially considering the price!

The one HUGE bonus for me is the ease of changing channels using the onn box for sling tv. You see, Sling just updated their interface for Firestick and I hate it. It's slow to react number one, and it's multiple presses/menus to change a channel now! Come on. The down-arrow, bottom menus shortcut on the original UI is gone. Channel surfing is awful on their new UI. just awful. I was so glad to find out Sling hasn't yet ruined the UI for Android. So either chrome cast or the onn are better out the box. However, the onn adds the up and down channel buttons to the remote which is a game changer. It makes changing the tv like it should be... one button press. This is something that Chrome cast and Firestick don't do. I don't know if the expensive Nvidia mentioned has this feature, but for $30 I love the onn box and I'm going to replace the other fire stick in the bedroom soon and buy a 3rd for backup. Sling should take note of this and partner with onn (Walmart) to offer free boxes with new subscriptions just due to the channel surfing ability alone.

Once again ONN does not disappoint!! The device is very similar to a Firestick and you can download numerous apps to it and if it doesn’t have the app preloaded you can actually request for it to download. I have several products from ONN and ALL are reliable and well made products

The box works great truly very well this is one of the things that you rather spend your money on for the Christmas to give away to those who don't got something like this or they don't have a Roku TV this is better than the Roku TV cuz you can have good apps to this a friend of mine tried it out and he's got the Google Chrome the little box that's got the remote and he said if I would have known this thing was out there he would have bought this instead that's how much he liked it and he's got a good 75 inch TV with 4K and he said this thing looks good on here and it runs fast he recommended it to a couple of other friends and sent them pictures of it. I do recommend this Android box to all of you'll.

I plan on using this in my RV only because we do not expect the watch a lot of TV and it appeared to be a good investment. I will now purchase several from my home! The picture is great, the amount of channels I can watch is impressive and the fact I can control it thru my Google assist is amazingly simple. The instal was fairly easy, very self explanatory, and trouble shooting was quick.

All my comments are based on 1080p. This is much nicer than my prior Mi Box S that despite numerous updates still could not remain connected to WiFi. This box replaced the Mi Box within 90 minutes, and connects ever time. First boot and it updated it's firmware. Been tweaking ever since. Some suggestions: Get 'Downloader' from the Play Store to download files, as there is no USB. Download SmartTube Next for an ad free YouTube. Download Lilly DNS Changer and add an entry for AdGuard DNS and set to start on boot. This will create a VPN redirecting DNS inquiries to a DNS server blocking ads - this will help with removing ads from free applications. Disable any unused applications (Camera? - really) in settings. I had to manually disable the video viewer using ADB commands, but that's a one time requirement. One thing I've not been able to do is remap the additional buttons on the remote (Netflix, etc). Very responsive little box, but know it's limitations and you should be fine.

This thing is great. We’re about to move across the country and we want to be able to watch all of our streaming services on the hotel TVs and the travel TV we have, so we got this little box to take with us. It’s so small it’s PERFECT for travel. We gave it a whirl at home and had no issues streaming. The interface is pretty intuitive, I like it better that the Fire stick. This Onn brand can be kind of iffy but this one is a win!

This streaming device does not disappoint! Not only is it small and sleek, the onn android tv uhd streaming device was so simple to set up my 9 year olds hooked it up for us! It connected quickly to the internet and we were ready to start streaming! We were able to download our favorite apps instantly, and we were able to use our Spotify on a streaming device finally! My family is very pleased with this device, and we will definitely take it on our vacations as well!

It may be cheap but does what it’s designed to used it for a couple days no buffering or lag issues sided loaded apps without any issues that I’ve had with higher price android tv boxes Only has 4gb of storage so don’t expect to install a lot of high storage apps setup was easy logged in on google and was good to go

Be aware that this particular box is NOT for Canada. It is U.S and Puerto Rico. You will need to do a lot of googling to make it compatible to be used in Canada.
