Was planning to get the 512GB version, but currently it's sold out. So had to settle for this 256GB one. Still happy that I saved some money cause the other store brands are very pricey, even the same capacity as this one. Just glad to get this cause 256GB internal memory of the Switch 2 isn't enough. This micro sd express card works well on Switch 2. Can't wait 'til they have the 512GB available, %26 maybe even when the 1TB micro sd express cards are available for sale. Looking forward to transfer all my games from the "OG Switch" to the "Switch 2"! :)
In a world of volatile markets, especially those regarding Memory of any type I'm glad this brand exists.
Best value for a 256 GB Micro Express storage card.
You’re getting your monies worth with this! It’s half the price of the Nintendo 256gb Official Micro SD EX Card and works perfectly, no problems. I’ve trusted the Onn brand for years! You will get a pop up on your Switch 2 saying that it’s going to preform an update to make the card work.
Stopped working in the Switch 2 after 7 months. Despite supposedly having a one-year warranty, good luck claiming it. The warranty website listed is just "walmart.com" and the ONN warranty website only covers TVs. Calling them only makes them rout you back to regular Walmart customer service, who say they can't help with this and to "contact the manufacturer." I got this because it was available at the Switch 2 launch, but I absolutely will not buy an ONN product again. Back to Samsung cards for me... I haven't had one of those fail yet.
Bought it for my Nintendo Switch 2. It stopped working after a couple months and I lost all the clips and screenshots I had transferred from my Switch 1, and of course, since it failed after 3 months I can't return it anymore. I was able to use it for a while and play big games from it, but one day my Switch 2 just stopped recognizing it, and when I plugged it into my PC it only detected 8GB instead of the 256GB it should have (and I definately played games much larger than 8GB on it) and windows was unable to reformat it. I saw other reviews talking about this card failing and thought they just got bad ones. Now I wonder how many of these positive reviews were just made shortly after purchase. The official Nintendo branded Samsung SD card is $15 more. Usually branded stuff like that is more expensive then generic ones, but cards from other reputable companies seem to be pricing it similar to that. Don't be like me. Spend a few extra dollars on an SD card from a reputable brand. If you're looking at this for a Switch 2, I'd recommend the official Samsung one. Samsung is at least a much more reputable brand than Onn and I have much more confidence in their SD cards than Onn.
I bought this product for my Switch 2 and while it worked it worked well. I received my Switch 2 as a Birthday gift in early August, we are now in Mid November and I sit here without a functioning MicroSD. I bought this card in July when it was 10 dollars less, and at that price [35 USD] it was a great deal. The current price is too comparable to more established brands like Sandisc. That alone would have me saying look to those brands. But it's failing to post on my Switch 2 and then PC telling me only 8 GB are available. I feel more than conned. Other reviewers may have been/gotten lucky with cards that worked and still do. It was great for the cost, until the cost went up. It was great for the storage, until the storage failed. Read and Write speeds: I am not Digital Foundry or Good Vibes Gaming so I didn't record it at the time, but it didn't feel like anything egregious or out of the ordinary; compared to what I'd seen online. I'd dare say it was phenomenal when it came to playing some older Switch Titles on my Switch 2, thought that likely is more to do with the Hardware overall.
Got this for my new Switch 2. It is also (was) the cheapest express card you could get. Worked fine at first but stopped working after about a month. Switch 2 is unable to read card now.
This card failed after 4 months and even though it says there is a 1 year warranty there is no number or website for NON-TV Onn products. you will go around in circles and Walmart will not help
I bought this for my Switch 2 in June 2025. It worked fine until today. I powered the Switch 2 on and it says it can't read the card. I can't get my computer to mount it either.
