onn. Small Rugged Portable Bluetooth Speaker, Cobalt

This is an Onn. groove Rugged Speaker. I have the greyish black one and it's small but has wonderful sound. It uses Bluetooth that we connected from my phone to listen to music from ITunes. We had it running for 13 hours before the battery died with the volume on a Medium to low. We could control the volume from my phone or on the speaker. It also can skip the song playing to the next one. The front mesh of the speaker is a mesh canvas material which is so much nicer than plastic. If you have more Onn speakers you can pair them up also called Party Mode. It's waterproof up to 3 feet. This speaker is better than the one my husband bought And paid over a hundred dollars for because the Bluetooth goes further on this one and the sound is great quality and it's small and portable unlike his very large and heavy one.

I'm really impressed with this little speaker! The sound that it puts out is really impressive. It's not even as big as my hand and it sounds like a home stereo. The Bluetooth connected to my iPhone without a hitch. The speaker actually talks to you and says “Bluetooth Pairing”, then it says “Bluetooth Connected”. The volume is easy to change, though it may be tough in the dark, as the -/+ are just slightly raised on the surface. But you can change the volume on your device too. The +/- buttons also double as ‘skip' forward or backward. You just hold down the button longer. The > button doubles as Play or Pause. Pretty simple. My only issues with this speaker have to do with the charger. First of all, the cable supplied is so short that it won't even reach from the table top to the outlet. I had to put the speaker on the floor to charge it. I suppose it would work on the kitchen countertop, but that's not so convenient. Also, there isn't an indicator that tells when it's fully charged or almost dead. Overall though, I think I'll get lots of use out of this speaker at work in the OR. We'll see how long the battery lasts.

Simple to use. I had it linked to my android phone in seconds. This is a great personal, battery-powered and/or USB powered/charged Bluetooth speaker that has plenty of volume for it's size and weight. It maintains a decent level across a living room. I can hear every note and word clearly when I'm in the room at the bottom of the stairs and it's playing in the upstairs bedroom. I didn't know how many reasons I had for needing this until I got it. I've been using headphones since the external speaker system on one of my PCs went on the fritz. The Onn sounds great with that computer plugged into it's aux input. The Sound quality is basically that of a decent FM radio. Here's a great application for musicians. As soon as I find my temporarily misplaced 1/4" to mini-plug adapter, I'm going to run one of my acoustic/electric guitars through it via a guitar wireless transmitter/receiver system. This should be ideal for placing it across a room to reinforce a acoustic guitar at a moderate level in a very small venue with an intimate crowd. I'll be also looking for a battery powered mini-mixer so I can run both wireless guitar and vocals across a room. You can Bluetooth several of these together if you need more than one at a time for more coverage. Everything will fit in a guitar case. Sound quality is always subjective but I've put together pro ~20,000 Watt stereo actively tri-amped systems and I'm delighted with the sound quality of this powered, completely wireless (with optional wired aux input), little Bluetooth speaker. I need to charge it overnight and test the stated (up to) 8 hours of battery-powered operation. I have run it for a limited time on battery power with no problems. I've also been running it plugged into the USB output on my PC. The only thing I would have liked to seen was some kind of charge level indicator. Other than that minor criticism, it's amazing for the price. I'm hard to please and I just ordered a second one.

So, I'm pretty wary of off brand or inexpensive Bluetooth speakers because they just never seem to sound good or connect properly. I was wary when I ordered this, too, and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a nice bright blue and does feel quite rugged with rubber all around it, and a nice thick sturdy carrying cord. We got it to connect to our iPhones immediately with no issue and the sound was WAY better than our old speaker (ihome brand). Nice and loud and good bass, zero complaints there (and this is coming from someone who also owns a Bose!) It says it has an 8 hour battery life, which is pretty awesome but we haven't tested that yet. It charges easy peasy with an included usb cord. This is an excellent little Bluetooth speaker with excellent sound and a great price. I totally recommend. No complaints!

I'm in love with this little blue tooth speaker. Easy to sync, small and good sound for a little speaker. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can take it out by the pool and on my kayak when I'm fishing. It also has a little strap to put on your wrist or hang. The rechargeable batter last about 8 hrs.

This is a great little speaker. Out of the box it was charged and ready to pair with my phone. Pairing was as simple as holding down the bluetooth button on top of the speaker. Then looking in the settings of my phone under bluetooth and finding the "onn. Rugged SM GRY". Then play your favorite music. The + and - are used to raise and lower the volume, if you long press they will replay last song or forward to the next song. The "play" button will play or pause the music. I didn't keep track of the hours that it played on a charge but I know it was a long time. When it needs to be charged it will let you know. I really like the sound for such a small speaker. When you hold it in your hand you can really feel the base thumping. The small size makes it easy to move with you from room to room as you move about the house. I have owned a bluetooth speaker from another manufacturer and I definitely like this one a lot more.

I received this product as a part of the walmart spark reviewer program and we absolutely love it. It has a clear soundand very loud. It was actually surprising that a small speaker could have a great quality. It honestly beats google hands down. I will defintely purchase another speaker for my husband. We no longer use our old speaker, its all about the cobalt now.

The Bluetooth functionality is not only super simple to use with a phone or other device, but you can receive and end calls from the speaker with just a touch. Highly recommend this cute little speaker!

This is a pretty good speaker. The sound is louder than my $40 speaker that I purchased at the mall. I liked that the sound doesn't get muffled when the volume is all the way turned up. It has an auxiliary jack in it, but I preferred to use Bluetooth. It worked well, even when I brought my phone into the next room. The speaker is also compatible with other Bluetooth speakers. There's a list of compatible ones included with everything. A charging cord is also included. It's not very long, but any android charger should work with it. I also liked that the charging jack and the auxiliary jack have a cover over them so you wouldn't have to worry about accidentally getting water in them. The speaker is waterproof in up to 3 feet of water. I'm not sure if that means you can submerge it into water, but I'm sure it's meant to protect the speaker if you want to bring it into the shower with you or have it right outside of the shower. I think it's meant to handle some water, but not be totally drenched. Another thing I liked was that when you're turning the speaker on and off the speaker actually says, “Speaker on/off.” My old speaker only made a beeping sound that wasn't too noticeable so whenever I tried turning it off, I'd accidentally turn it right back on. The only thing I didn't like was the strap on it. It's pretty much just a shoestring. You're able to untie it and take it off, but I'd be afraid of it untying itself and then dropping. I'd just make sure to check the tightness of the knot or just tie and extra knot or two. All in all, it's still a very good speaker.

The little jewel is a product that I really like, something that I use every day to play music or listen to news in the morning while sitting on my back porch drinking my morning coffee. If you are expecting Bose like performance you are gonna be a little disappointed, but for what it is you will find that it is a great product. The unit is small in size, 4.75" wide, 2.5" height and 2.25" depth, has a nice feel in the hand, and has convenient controls on the top of the unit. It paired immediately with my Android phone and performed flawlessly every time I have used it. All in all, it is a product that I really like and would recommend to my friends.
