Great Phone Service! We have been very happy with this phone service. One of the best features is the flexibility in plans. You can choose a basic plan where you pay nothing for the phone service; you only pay taxes and fees, which usually run about $5–$9 per month, or you can upgrade to additional features like spam blocking for $16–$17 per month. Take a minute to research the plans you won't regret it. (For those of you who are not techies, you do need the internet for this phone to work.) Since purchasing our first box, we estimate we've saved about $6,500 compared to traditional phone service, which is an incredible value. (This was actually our second box purchase. We lost the first one when moving.) Overall, excellent service, reliable performance, and huge long-term savings. Highly recommended!
The product is a bit pricey, but it's worth the cost, especially when switching to a VoIP service that is more user-friendly and affordable. So far, there are no complaints.
Easy to setup and excellent support for porting number
Better price at Walmart than the OOMA site!
We moved into a new house that was not hardwired for the internet so we had to get this Wifi version of Ooma Telo so that we didn't have to keep it in the basement near the modem. It works the same as the previous Ooma that we had for several years with a couple of exceptions. It now has actual buttons to push instead of just touch-sensitive symbols on the unit. Those were a little too sensitive, often deleting just by hovering your finger over the button waiting for the message to finish. Also the finish isn't tacky and sticky like the old one. Best of all, the playback sound quality is greatly improved. I don't know if they were all bad before or just my unit but this new one is very clear.
The app is buggy so setup is frustrating, if you are using wireless connection. I had Android app and it took 10+ attempts to connect over Bluetooth to start setup. No help or instructions of use. Once setup, product works great.
Only had it about a week but so far no issues. Had to wait a day for ooma IT to register the device (called customer service for this). Tried to use app that was recommended by instructions but it would not work. If you are going to use the wifi to connect than this is the better and cheaper way to go. Getting 25-35 mbps downloads with device located on a different floor from router. Not great but sufficient for searching internet. Phone quality is good ( not using a ooma phone). This is my second ooma. The first died after about 8 years.
Have been using ooma for about 10 years. Reliable device. My first Oooma Telo device lasted about 10 years before it stopped working. I got the second recently. good customer service. very helpful. The service rely on internet. Get a reliable internet service.
Fairly easy to set up - ported my previous phone number without an issue. My only complaint is the iPhone app that doesn't work all well at all / seems to be a known issue.
So far it does everything it claims to do. So far no problems.
