This is a feature-rich security camera system that's easy to use and delivers excellent picture quality. The ability to search for time, motion, and human/vehicle events simplifies usage. The PoE cameras with spotlights are a standout feature, and running just an Ethernet cable to each one allows for versatile installation. Although there isn't a detailed user manual, YouTube videos are available, and support (especially Hugh) is very responsive. Camera sensitivity, color, contrast, masking, event detection, and recording time are all individually customizable, though the out-of-the-box settings work well too. I've used two other systems and find the clarity and features of the OOSSXX to be the best.

The initial impression of the app and the security camera system she uses was really good. But after a few weeks of use, I'm not all that impressed with the motion detection it offers. Either the cameras are too sensitive and pick up the slightest movement of tree branches, or the recording only starts when you stand right in front of the camera and look at the lens from a few meters away. And recordings are often delayed, long after the subject triggering the event is out of view. At night, the performance is even worse... I've tried tweaking the settings this way or another, but it hasn't improved much and the performance inconsistency persists. So, considering all of this, even though the app was easy to set up, the image quality was really good, and the aesthetics of the system were impressive, due to inconsistent features, significant changes to the app, and improvements to the motion detection algorithm, I had to downgrade my rating from 5 to 3 stars. Motion detection is very unreliable and needs to be improved for cameras and system of this quality,

it has the most basic camera that doesn't have Zoom or any other functions. the encoding has 4 options, but when i choose another, it always automatically switches back to the default, which, while it has good-sized encoding, has terrible issues with pictures you could actually identify someone with. as soon as soneone turns towards the camera it looks like it censors them out on their face and with the way the encoding works it has issues at times detecting motion even in plain sight. those times have about 10x the resolution for people than when it is capturing them, it also has an annoying green box it puts around people that i cant seem to get rid of as if i wouldnt be able to tell what the camera was seeing that tripped the motion record in the first place. also it freezes regularly on longer shots making it impossible to watch to the end. overall if you cant afford better, go for it but i cant recommend this product to anyone in good conscience. is pretty easy to use and came with all the mounting hardware for the cameras and a mouse for the unit so i gotta give credit for that and the fact it came with a 1tb hard drive as well but overall we will see if it does better with better cameras in the future.

There was no bar code on any part of the device so I was unable to get the unit online so I could receive results remotely. That was the original intention. I had completed the installation when I discovered this. I'm 83 and went to school that day. Set it up and get it working before installation. Ring equipment is up and running now. Live and learn
