We bought this to use in a Church multipurpose room & its wonderful. Plenty of HDMI inputs and great sound. This model still comes with a remote. A plus for some of older members to have.
Purchased this D-series 43" about a month ago and really enjoy all the features that came with it, I can watch TV programs from the past and untold amount of movies, took me some time to get used to all the features but it is the best TV I have ever owned.
The TV was delivered quickly, it was easy to set-up, and it has a great picture. I purchased this specific model because the remote control has a button to go directly to Netflix. Although I have a device to cast to the TV from my PC, I prefer the convenience of single button access on the remote.
My Review for VIZIO D-Series™ 55” (54.6" Diag.) Ultra HD Full-Array LED Smart TV | D55-E0. Like this model so much, i would buy a larger size but looks like Vizio is getting away from internet apps (VIA) and going to Smartcast. The thin frame make this 4K look great! Would look great on a wall but, I'm using it on a stand. The remote is easy to use and just as beautiful. Simple to use All the connections you'll need and easy set up. Per constant updates you may need to reset your set. Which is well worth it for such a beautiful 4K. All my sets are VIZIO 4K's. I own a 50", 55", and a M series 70". They are all VIA's. If you don't want the hassle of having to have and fiddle with another device to cast your shows better get these while there hot!
Bought this as a replacement TV for one that was less than 4 years old so we weren't happy about that. We were happy to receive a model upgrade at a fairly discounted price and appreciate it but wish we didn't have to put money out for a new TV already.
The TV has a good picture and "standard sound" which sounds better through earphones. We added on a sound bar but it was too much for us Senior Citizens. This TV does not overwhelm you with a deep picture and we found out that the clear motion setting does not do much for the faster sports. Not much stereo effect from the speakers. But we would state that it is a good standard TV. The repairman has been out once to repair the "power button" and we were advised to just use the remote as you can not get a replacement for the installed power button assembly. Thanks.
Vizio apps are lacking. I had to plug my Amazon Fire TV stick in to be able to use Amazon music because Vizio doesn't have the app. I'm very disappointed. Also, Vizio app for Accuweather when used is so small it's worthless. I have to use the Amazon Fire TV stick when I want to use Accuweather. Overall I'm not happy with my purchase. The Vizio "Smart" tv is stupid.
This was a replacement of my M550SV Vizio because the sound went out after only 5 yrs much to my great disappointment. It had a realy good picture from anywhere in the room. The new D55-EO has a discent picture when looking straight on, but if you sit very much at either side the picture "grays out" significantly! Very disappointing! I did not expext this, and would not purchase this model again because of that.
To be honest, I found this model (which replaced a previous Vizio model) had a very narrow viewing angle where images were clear and colors popped. Moving only slightly off straight-on, the colors washed out and the images blurred. Sent it back to Vizio and replaced it with an E series of the same size and I am totally satisfied with it. Where the D series failed, the E series stepped up and now I am happy.
I have had nothing but trouble with my new Vizio D55 TV. It has serious electrical issues. The picture will freeze and buzz. I have to constantly turn it off and on again to clear the picture freeze. The TV will suddenly turn off by itself. The customer service department has been very helpful, but this is a troubled TV set. This is the first Vizio that I have ever had trouble with. This is my 3rd Vizio.
