Open pit isn't a sweet BBQ sauce. It's got some spice and is heavier on the vinegar. I mix it with a little bit of hickory brown sjgar sauce and it's my own perfect preference.
Used this sauce for years then stores in the area quit carrying it.......finally found I could order it through Wal Mart.........great service and price........highly recommend them and the sauce. Now have enough to last me through the summer.......
so flavourful so good i used it in the oven to bake on meat....so many flavors... didn't have to use seasoning perfect
I feel Open Pit is the best BBQ Sauce on a store shelf, the blend of seasonings is perfect for me and my family.
Open pit is a family favorite. It's sometimes difficult to find, but that's not because of Walmart.
Looking at all the bad reviews. People with the good reviews remember this sauce growing up. Mom used it all the time. Meatloaf Meatballs Sloppy Joes and more. Great Sauce. It's an Illinois favorite.
I was raised in Illinois and could only find it there until Walmart in Arkansas started carrying it. I use it in meatloaf spaghetti, spaghetios, as a glaze on ham, roasts and will not substitute this item
I like everything about open pit to taste the value of it.
Great product I've purchased for many years at an extremely high price. The size bottle I purchased should have cost about $2 but was closer to @8 with free (?) shipping.
I have tried a lot of different BBQ sauces in my time, some better, some worse. This is without a doubt the absolute worst and there's no competition. I don't even know how to describe it, just liquid excrement. No redeeming quality other than the low price, which made me feel like I didn't waste a ton of money by chucking the whole bottle in the trash. Tried once with dipping and got rid of it. Perhaps it tastes better when cooked, but I'm not about to waste any perfectly good meat to take a chance on this utter garbage. To factory farm an animal for slaughter and then cover it in this vile liquid would just be insult to injury. I have no idea why this is a 4.5 star product here. This should be pulled from shelves. Do yourself a favor and buy a decent sauce.
