Very good simulator

ThankfulWife November 21, 2016

This was my husband's birthday present and he absolutely loves it. It works very well and after setting it up and playing a round, he says it plays pretty much like his actual game. The putting is not very accurate, according to my husband, but that part of all simulators is hard to master. The rest of the game is spot-on and I've not seen my husband is several hours.... he's actually playing the simulator right now :)

Having fun in the basement

Hotshot January 13, 2017

Easy to setup and use. Now we are playing golf all winter with the family. It does a very good job of measuring your swing and the direction of the ball flight. Highly recommend it

Great Simulator

Jmytro December 11, 2016

I have owned this simulator for 1.5 years, have it setup to a 50" TV and hit real balls into a large net in my basement. The graphics are really good (for a $299 simulator) and the upgrades they have made from v1 to v2 are excellent. You can play tournaments, practice and play against people all over the world in mini tournaments. If you are looking for a budget prices simulator, this is the one you should buy..Also, you need to get a good hitting mat that adds to the experience of the simulator.

Great winter and self teaching help.

nyob January 10, 2017

Be patient when learning the system, and make sure you use a ball (foam or real) and set the BALL TYPE in the settings for best results. You will probably need to tape your metal woods for proper recognition by the device. Won't teach you anything about contact (thin or thick) but shows swing path, club face, and head speed. If you want to get detailed, get the V1 app for your smart phone to record your swing on video.

More of a game, not for game improvement

Lgnir March 17, 2017

I purchased this because I own a SkyTrak, and my grandkids always want to play like "grandpa does". There is no way I am going to let them shank a ball (or possibly a club) into a $2000 unit, so I purchased this as the price was right, and I can set it up so that the kids get some fun out of it, and I can play with them as well. PROS: Cheap price, comes with 15 courses and the driving range. Good graphics and fairly easy to set up the unit and software. Can be used with real balls, foam balls or no ball at all. You can set it up so young or inexperienced golfers play each course as par 3 courses, which makes it more enjoyable for them. CONS: Let's face it, it is only tracking the club head, so you are not capturing any ball data. Calibrating the clubs correctly can be a pain in the butt, but once you do it, you will get a little more accurate data. Because the unit is raised, you either need to build a stance platform, or get a thick hitting mat and cut it to set the unit into. You can buy a mat designed for it, but the cutout is only on one side, so it's not good if you have both left and right handed golfers. There is a cord that is attached to the unit and your computer/laptop that you can run under your mat, but if not, you have to be careful someone does not trip over it. BOTTOM LINE: I look at this as a game more than anything, but it is good for young golfers to learn the game in a simulation environment. I would not recommend it if you are looking for something to use to improve your "real life" game. Save your money and get a SkyTrak. It is good if you just want to swing a club to keep your golf muscles loose, or just mess around and play a round of golf, but do not expect it to show you realistic ball flight. I've intentionally hit shots that should have hooked or sliced terribly, and it was way less on the OptiShot.

Not worth it

HappyGilmore February 16, 2017

I was excited about this product and having an option to golf inside. Set up was easy and I was pleasantly surprised when it came to the graphics. I read a lot of reviews and the graphics did not get many good comments but I had no complaints. Now for the game play itself, I was incredibly disappointed. I am an avid golfer and know my swing speed and swing path very well. Optishot constantly had my swing speed 35-40 mph slower than reality. The impact zone was also very inaccurate. My original hope was just to be able to utilize it as a way to get some swings in during the winter and wanted it to be somewhat accurate, while knowing it wouldn't be 100%. But this product was so far off, I had it boxed up and returned the next day. Please avoid this product or you will be disappointed.
