After my first try with the powersharp were l blew half the teeth off the chain on my 1'st pass l was sceptical about the product. Kudos to Northern Tool they replaced it so l decide to take out a 20 " white pine. A real surprise it blew thur that tree way to quick., cut it into 8' lenghts then ripped the logs into boards ( l just have a very old Poulan 2150) . All down in about 3 hours except for the cleanup. Worked well, one very quick resharppening after l hit the dirt twice, the chain didn't streach out like most new chains do on breakin. very satisfied
Works better than a regular chainsaw chain. Sharpening mount is very easy to use. Bar and chain is simple to install. Cutting and sharpening made easy is the best way to describe this product.. I am extremely pleased with this product.
Easy to understand instructions. Easy to sharpen cutters when needed. A great time saver and sharp cutters make cutting faster and safer.
Great product works great so far.Easy! It really does resharpne the blade to use again.
I was skeptical, but this product really works. The chain was redesigned to allow it to be sharpened on the top side of the chain. The product stays sharp longer than the original Echo chain that came with my saw. Used over a two day period and only needed to sharpen twice and it took only 5 seconds to sharpen the chain.... WOW!
This product is fantastic! It completely changed how my chainsaw operated. Placing this on my cheaper Poulan Pro (42cc) chainsaw allowed it to keep up with my fathers more powerful Stilh.... I cut for over an hour and still didn't need to sharpen (cutting mulberry, elm, and cottonwood) I am so impressed Ive ordered two more for my mom and grandpa's saws. You won't be disappointed. Cant comment on how well the stone works on resharpening yet but it doesn't appear that you will need to use it as often as I was thinking I might have to.
bought the bar/blade/sharpener kit and installed it on a 14yr old Craftsman chainsaw. Blade is great lasted a long time on right out of the box. The Sharpening attachment saved so much time. The only criticism is the bar does not have the adjusting slide like other blades have. Still there is a hole that you can stick the saw tool into to pry the blade tight.
The Oregon Powersharp is a very easy product to use. It is a great time saver and you do not have to leave your work to sharpen the chain. Highly recommend this product.
I was told that my chainsaw was to big to use the 18" Powersharp kit, so I will have to return it.
This product does not sharpen the correct part of the chain and will lead to a reduced chain life. The proper method of sharpening your chain is to use a round file and sharpen the bottom edge of the tooth, and you'll know your saw needs sharpening if it's making dust, instead of chips. Do your research and don't ruin your nice saw blades.
