Ginger is one of the most powerful natural healing and immunity boosting herbs. Organic is always best so that you are sure you are not adding harmful chemical pesticides to your body. I peel about a 1.5 inch piece of this ginger, slice it into thin pieces and pour boiling water over it in my tea cup. Cover, let it steep for about 10 minutes, add in some organic 100% raw and unfiltered honey and I have a wonderful hot cup of tea that does wonders for a sore throat, the sniffles, an upset belly or just to enjoy sipping while reading or painting.
Ginger has alittle bit of mildew growing on the ends. Ginger root does NOT need to be stored in the refrigerated area of your store. Ginger root needs to be in dry storage. Cold temps and water ruin ginger and causes it to mildew and mold rapidly.
Website describes product as 1 lb PERUVIAN ginger but nowhere on the packaging does it say it’s Peruvian, rather, it is a product from China clearly stated on the back of the packaging . Also. It is 8 oz and NOT 1 lb as stated on website. I never write reviews but customers beware. Having said that, mine was in decent condition - no mold as others have complained about. Will be returning.
I recently purchased this ginger root from Walmart, and unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality. I had just bought ginger root from Aldi, which tasted fresh, had a clean texture, and was clearly authentic. The ginger from Walmart, however, seemed off. It had a strange, almost rubbery texture that was very chewy and hard to break down. The taste was also unusual, almost artificial, which made me question whether this was real or possibly genetically modified. I couldn’t even eat it properly; I had to spit it out because it just wouldn’t break down in my mouth. This was not at all the experience I had with the ginger from Aldi, which was fresh, flavorful, and easy to consume. I wouldn’t recommend this product until there’s better quality control to ensure it’s real, natural ginger root.
The ginger was wet, spongy, soggy and old. It didn’t look like organic because it was too fat and didn’t have the small structure. I’m totally unhappy with the ginger.
The ginger had mold on it.... I should've taken a pic, but i was very sick and needed it to steep as a tea:(
I ordered ginger, and when I received it, the package was open and there were only two pieces inside.
This states in description it’s a lb package of ginger. On the package itself it states it is 8 oz. I thought i was purchasing a lb as the ad states in narrative but only received 8 oz package
I could give zero I would this is my very first time to give review . There were times I let go of my complain. I'm a busy person that's the reason I do curb picked up . Please select the better vegetable or fruit . Think about your shopping for yourself . If the fruit or veggie is rotten don't give it to customer.
First of all one of the two large roots in the bag was cut up. I've grown ginger and whoever harvested it was not careful cutting the roots in the ground above this one. It had slices all the way through it. So it was all dried out inside. In addition, the roots are both huge and the internal root is too old to us, so most of what I paid for is going to be old, tough and stringy. It isn't worth grating or slicing. I got a refund. Walmart, please return to allowing pickers to choose roots from a bin. These companies are ripping us off.
