This garment rack is just what I was looking for. I had bought a previous one but didn't really like it. This takes less space, has a place to store stuff on the bottom and light items on the top shelf. It was a little hard to put together as the instructions weren't very clear, but got it done and no tools are needed.
Used as a laundry rack for drying clothes, mostly shirts. Won't support many heavy items. No locks on wheels so need to brace it so doesn't roll around outside with the breeze. Most is metal with just a few plastic parts. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Thought I was receiving a different brand. Difficult to see on website. It's not as sturdy as the one I had previous. Too much trouble returning. It'll do but a little disappointed.
So, I am only giving this a 3 star rating "for now". The product arrived boxed and taped but without the two endcaps to plug the top rack. Walmart.com promptly hooked me up with a 3-way call to the manufacturer who then proceeded to mail me the endcaps. I will not actually be using this rack until April, so I may be back. As for now, it seems strong and steady.
This rack is suitable for lightweight items (shirts, for example), or for only a few mid-weight items. I purchased it to carry the weight of many pairs of slacks and it performed miserably. I ended up adding two floor-to-rod support posts in order to keep the rack from sliding downward under the weight of my clothes. With that addition, it is performing adequately. If the rack came with a weight limit rating, that would provide future purchasers with a better understanding of its limits.
Very simple, it broke the next day I got it. It doesn't hold any weight at all!!!
I purchase this and the version without the top shelf. As the one without was not stable, I felt this would be unstable with the added weight of a shelf. RETURNED.
This product is so cheap and I do not recommend if you plan on hanging more than 10-15 very very very light items on the rack. Right now this rack is in my room tipping over with the bottom shoe rails bent. It fell apart more than 3 times. If you have a lot of clothes and want something sturdy spend the extra money on a commercial garment rack. TRUST ME it will be worth it.
Assembly of this rack was fairly simple, After completing the assembly, I placed six men's suits, a dozen shirts, several ties and an assortment of belts on the extended ends. All was well until one of the plastic legs cracked and the rack fell to the floor sideways. I got what I paid for. Not a problem. I returned it to the closest Wal-Mart outlet and was cheerfully refunded.
This like all the other adjustable garment racks, is very generic. Especially the top shelf unit, it is very flimsy and again generic. I can't even fit my hangers on to it without having to basically unhook them (meaning not being able to simply lifting up and out to remove them.)
