I love my kayak! It sets up and folds back up super easily. I bought it due to injuries that don't allow me to lift heavy loads. This is awesome.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great invention. It is so easy to store, transport, assemble, navigate, and dissemble. I immediately got the second one so that I can enjoy it with my friends. I weigh 130 pounds and I use it with a seven year girl 50 pounds and a Chihuahua 10 pounds. It was so stable and we love the experience. I definitely recommend recommended to all who were thinking about the new adventure with kayaks. Thank you and congrats to the team.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Inlet is better than my Beach, proportionally to my size 5'4". I'm able to carry it as one person and it fits in my backseat as well as the trunk of my SUV with a lot of room for other items. I think once used a few times, it'll conform to its proper shape folded but out of the box it was a little wonky.
I bought my husband the black Inlet kayak and got the white one for myself. We took them out for the first time last weekend, and it was smooth sailing! They're incredibly lightweight, easy to carry, and glide beautifully on the water—we had such a great time. After about an hour, the seats did start to feel a bit uncomfortable, so I'll be ordering the gel seat upgrades soon. Setup and takedown were a bit of a challenge at first (it took us about 40 minutes to get both kayaks ready), but now that we know the process, I'm sure it'll be much quicker next time.
I have taken my kayak out on the lake several times already. It tracks well and is easy to assemble. I have used a regular sea kayak but can't lift it to carry on my car. I also have an inflatable, but wanted something more sturdy and better in the wind. The Oru seems perfect for me so far.
I have had this kayak for about a week now and I have used it five times already. this kayak is so easy to use, easy to carry, easy to get in and out of. I can grab the kayak, dry bag , paddle, water bottle and life jacket in one trip from car to the water. no going back and forth to carry everything or having to use a dolly. I have been going to work with the kayak in the car and after I get off work hit the water in 10 minutes and kayak for a few hours. Love this kayak. I have a perception tandem cove, and this kayak is more comfortable than that one and much more easier to handle being that it is way lighter and doesn't have to go on top of the car. after I have this one for a while and giving it a good year of kayaking, I plan to get the tandem "haven". great job on this kayak. You should think about making a small folding sailboat. You could use leeboards so you wouldn't have to have a dagger board or centerboard trunk. no holes in the bottom.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used my Oru Inlet 6 times on calm protected ponds in Boise, ID and on a lake with choppy water from boats and wind and it has worked great! This is easy to get in and out of at the shore in about a foot of water! It is stable and doesn't feel like I am going to tip over. The seat is comfortable! I used it for 3 hours and my butt did not hurt. This Kayak is a great conversation starter people want to ask me about it, and I like that. The paddle and backpack that were included in my order are great. The Kayak is easy to carry when it's in backpack form, I have carried it twice to get to my kayaking spot walking about a quarter mile for about 6 minutes, it worked well. I did try portaging about a quarter mile between ponds and that was hard and I needed to stop and rest where I set my Kayak down. It probably would have been better to fold it up and then walk with it for that distance. The shoulder strap is amazing for carrying the full boat for short distances. I have found it is easy to set up and fold down. I am able wipe it down with a couple small micro fiber towels as I fold it down to get off any pond muck or much from the grass or shore. I bought a portable sprayer from Beach Box to be able to rinse it off at the shore. I am excited to continue to explore Kayaking opportunities around Idaho!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are “seniors” learning to kayak for the first time. We love our new Oru Kayak “Inlet” kayaks. Easy to set up and put away, easy to transport, and wonderful for paddling around.
After 52 years of experience with canoes and kayaks we got old enough that it is now pretty hard to hoist those boats around, so we decided to try two Inlets. Pros: easy to assemble, easy to carry, fairly easy to maneuver, easy to pack up. Cons: if you have a bad back be careful about trying to shift that backrest while paddling, as it is really easy to knock it completely loose and a little hard to get it back in its notch while paddling. Also, even with the addition of the memory foam seat you are still going to be sitting a little too low for a long paddle with a bad back. We are thinking about stacking two of those cushions, as that would probably be about the right seating height for both of us.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've wanted an Oru for a couple of years and finally bought one — no regrets! The Inlet is easy to set up and put away, is comfortable to sit in, tracks well, and moves along at a good clip. I had planned to buy a Lake but went for the Inlet and I'm glad I did. It feels very spacious and is almost more like a one-person canoe. I love being able to go for a paddle so much more easily now. It seems sturdy and well made. The only flaw is one strap is attached wrong so I have to twist it to buckle it. Otherwise, I have no complaints and am so glad I finally got this wonderful boat after much hemming and hawing.
