I remember growing up one of my favorite sandwiches as a kid, was a salami and cheese sandwich. Not sure why I grew out of it, but I recently saw it online while browsing deli meats and ordered a package. Yeap, same great taste I remembered. Plus, the value is unbelievable! a 16 oz. package (can make a whole lot of sandwiches) for under $3.00, come on now! This should be flying off the shelves! Love It!!
Makes great pizza sandwiches. To make the sandwiches butter, one side of the bread on the other side, put pizza sauce and then put your favorite cheese and the salami then your Next sliced bread, put pizza sauce and spread butter on it grill it like a grilled cheese kicks it up a notch.
This product has less salt than the other products like it. Some people have to monitor their salt intake so this is one of the few choices. It tastes good. It is also a good value.
This bologna takes me back to childhood. back then it was white bread with spicy mustard and mayonnaise and cheddar cheese along with this bologna. Sometimes Mom would fry up the bologna in the morning, make a fried egg and put it on an English muffin with a melted cheddar slice. Takes me back to simpler times
This salami is more affordable and has good flavor. My only complaint is that I'd like more peppercorns. Other than that, it's not too greasy, it's not hard or tough to chew. Yummy smell is a bonus. Ever make bologna gravy? Try it with salami. Cut up a few slices of salami while you heat a tad of cooking oil in a pan. Put the salami in and stir it until the salami gets slightly browned on the edges. Add in a couple of heaping tablespoons of flour and let the flour cook, on medium low, until the flour starts to turn a little golden, then add milk of choice. Turn the burner to medium and stir to combine the flour and milk until smooth. Add a little salt and pepper to taste. Stir occasionally until it reaches desired thickness (it will get thicker as it sits. If it gets too thick, add a little more milk, and stir). Remove from the heat and serve over your favorite biscuits. YUM!
It's been a while since I've had cotta, thought I'd try some. The texture was fine, as the flavors. Great for lunch or I like to mix it with other meats in sandwiches. People seem to either like cotta or not. If you like cotta give this brand a try if you haven't.
Pretty much with almost all lunch meats these days this product has had a great deal of water added. So much so that the slices need to be wiped with a paper towel before putting on sandwich.
Not a great cotto salami, because it.Unfortunately, tastes a little bit like bologna, so the flavor is not really strong, has no kick. I do like it to fry, chop up and put in my eggs.Don't really care for the way.Oscar mayers meats seal.I usually have to put them in a different container. If I don't want them to go bad or dry out in the fridge.
it's weird I have bought this brand for many years but for some reason the date that y'all have on here or that they have on here is not staying up to date it goes bad before the date so you've lost my business with there too never had that happen when I bought the same brand through Krogers and HEB
Oscar Mayer Cotto Salami used to have a distinct Salami taste to it. Lately, it tastes about the same as their balogna. I guess it's too expensive to make it taste like Salami anymore, Right Oscar? I've actually given up on this brand and buy Salami from the deli. It's more expensive, but the deli Salami actually tastes like Salami.
