Oscar Mayer Real Bacon Bits Mega Pack, 9 oz Bag, 2-2.5 cups

These bacon bits are not meant to expire until 11 August in 2024, but when I opened the bag last night to serve for dinner, I noticed the discoloration my daughter ate some and said they tasted disgusting. I thought she was just fibbing. So tonight I open the bag again to use first dinner again and I noticed that the chunks are molding again. This bag does not expire until August 11 of 2024.!?

These were better than I expected, the pieces were meaty, though there was a lot of fat, I guess to be expected with bacon, it has a lot of flavor... I made some pinwheel turkey bacon roll up sandwiches... these worked great and stuck well to the cream cheese.

I ordered a package of real bacon bits 3 days ago. They don't expire until September of this year. However. as soon as I opened the package, I could see the bacon had green on the pieces and then could smell mold from the package. I can also see moisture through the bottom of the bag. In my experience, this has never happened with this product before. The bacon bits are shelf stable so I'm not sure how this could have happened. Very dissapointed.

Rancid. Loved Oscar Mayer bacon bits. Hated this stomach wrenching experience. I bought 2 bags at the same time. Both had weeks left on best by date. When I unsealed one of the bag’s grabbed a handful and put on a salad. I took a bite and spit out because of the taste. I looked in the bag and mixed with somewhat fresh bits was grey rancid pieces and chunks that looked as if they had been jammed up in an ill maintained machine then purged into the bag and sealed. There was a sizable chunk towards the bottom that I assume had been “stuck” for awhile in the machinery and eventually shook/vibrated loose. I have an iron stomach but this looked disgusting and very disturbing. The other bag bought at the same time appeared normal. Inspect the product through the bag window and feel for chunks before you purchase and open,regardless what the date says.

It’s actually taste like real fresh made bacon I put this on many different things like for pasta,Meals with Rice, Mac and cheese oh god so many options and it’s extremely delicious

The bacon bits were molded. They were green %26 all stuck together.

They were dark brown in color

As a single person, this is perfect for me! I can throw some into the frying pan, add my eggs, fry them and easy bacon and eggs. I crisp them up and add to potato soup when I serve it. Love them on baked potatoes. And when I crave a BLT, I put mayo on the bread and put the bacon bits on the mayo, then add the tomato and lettuce. Super simple and quick BLT!
