100% recommend this backpack. I'm not sure what kind of support my old backpack had but this one travels and supports me beautifully. The difference is night and day. There's definitely some Harry Potter magic sewn in somewhere because my pack feels so much more manageable. That makes me stronger for the adventure and ready to GO! Well done, Osprey. Well done!

Day pack is my new favourite!

Elizabete C. January 3, 2026

I use a day pack daily for my commute or just go places. It is my go to bag now, the size is perfect, big enough for all my needs. Fits my lunch box and love the laptop compartment. Recently I travelled from UK to Portugal and used the travel pack on the way back. It went on hold with a couple bottles of wine and other goodies in addition to clothes. It was pretty full and heavy and my husband was glad it only needed carrying to the car and then the airport. It looks perfect for travel as carry-on with a max of 10 Kg but I am still to test that. Overall very pleased with the purchase, the travel pack will be useful and I'm certainly getting lots of value from the day pack!

Love it but

Angela B. November 22, 2025

I love my new bags, plus the accessory stuff bag & the gadget bag I bought too. The stuff bag is an absolute star & I used it everyday on holiday. However I wish I'd bought the fairpoint backpack on wheels as I found the fairview heavy when filled. I love all the Osprey range it's very good quality & smart. I will be adding to my collection soon.

Epic combo

Calum W. November 29, 2025

I bought this pack for my wife and the Farpoint 55 for myself to travel India for a few weeks. Having just got back, these packs turned out to be perfect for our needs, we could fit in everything for our trip so we could fly with only carry on luggage from Scotland. We used the small packs for everyday walkabouts as they are very light and carry just enough for a short adventure. I went for an overnight trek into the Himalayas and the 40l main pack did the job well, very comfy to wear even when fully loaded. I did lots of research and glad I went for this combo pack, will be using them for a lot more trips!

They really are that good

Adam P. September 29, 2025

me and my partner agonised over buying some new packs. We decide on these as if they last even half of their warranty they will be worth the money. Front loading is ideal, lots of pockets and adjustable features and really doesn't feel like you're carrying much once properly adjusted

Everything you need to travel

Annie January 11, 2025

I'm so pleased with this rucksack! It has everything I was looking for, as follows: It's very light; There are two rucksacks that clip together and the outside one has a hidden zip; The large rucksack opens right up so you can see everything in it; The straps can be concealed to make it look more like a case and there is a side handle; Good quality and comfy for hiking. I'm writing this as I find the Osprey website doesn't clearly state the features of the rucksacks and sometimes a feature is called different things depending on which rucksacks sack you're looking at.

Has potential but. . .

Josie August 31, 2025

I bought this as, on receipt, I discovered the Fairview 40 isn't big enough for any trip longer than a weekend. It seems like a nice day pack but I'm very disappointed that there's no secure way of attaching it to the Fairview 40. I don't feel at all confident that it would still be attached to the main bag by the time I retrieved it from the luggage carousel. It would make much more sense if the Fairview 55 was one pack that was big enough for a longer trip. This would also avoid the need to carry around two sets of straps.

Doesn't fit petite frame

Sue K. July 3, 2025

Love the bag, looks perfect, but it's impossible to get it to fit comfortably on a 5ft 2ish female frame. It either digs too much into the back of my neck or the plastic bits on the straps knock against my inner arm. Support were super helpful so I'm going to return and hopefully swap for another model

DO NOT BUY. Get the 40L instead

Aidan C. July 3, 2025

It is not at all obvious from the website or any of the online reviews of this pack, but the large pack that is part of the 55L version is NOT the same as the 40L pack sold separately. The 40L pack has a top pocket and a laptop pocket and two other outside pockets. The large pack that is part of the 55L version has none of those things and it is a GIANT pain to not have them. I don't like the daypack at all. It's strangely narrow and the outside pockets are too small and the zip enclosure doesn't open far enough. And for some reason it makes my shoulders incredibly, unreasonably sore when I wear it for more than a couple of hours, even when I don't have much in it. That has never happened to me with any other backpack. Do yourself a favor; buy the 40L pack along with some other daypack from somewhere else. Any daypack with loops on the front big enough to run straps through will attach to the 40L pack. I wish Osprey would have made the differences between the two versions clear. That said, other things about the large pack are nice. It seems to be well-constructed. The backpack support system is comfortable—enough so that I took it on a six day mountain backpacking trip without discomfort. The main drawback is that it has essentially nothing in the way of internal organizational structure; it's just one giant compartment. That the 55L lacks the external pockets of the 40L compounds this issue.
