I make milkshakes/ smoothies in it and the ice crush thoroughly chops the ice with no chunks left behind. Its perfect for what I use it for. I would purchase again.
This compact Oster blender has every feature I wanted: small footprint, glass carafe, easy to clean. Price was unbeatable, too. Highly recommend!
Fantastic blender and incredible price! I needed something to smooth lettuce, etc for smoothies and did not want to break my budget!
This blender does good for what I use it for which is smoothies 3-4 times a week. It crushes frozen fruit and ice but you do have to pulse crush, leaving on without pulsing I can smell the motor which leads me to believe this blender isn’t for everyday heavy use. I have not tried chopping vegetables with it yet. The next blender I get I will invest in one that is more heavy duty
I hate this blender. The lid lets juice come out the top and the rubber ring on the bottom keeps slipping into the glass jar and wrapping around the blades. The only reason it hasn't shredded the ring yet yet is because I hear the sound change and stop immediately to check it and find the ring tightly wrapped around the blade shaft. Buy a different blender and save yourself the trouble of messing with this piece of junk.
I bought it because it's supposed to be easy to clean. The blades are extremely sharp. Punchard my fingers several times when taking it apart to clean it. The bottom also loosens up when you're blending something. I've had several messes. Doesn't matter how tight you try to get it. Will never buy another Oster product.
You get what you pay for... you don't even get that with this thing. It is almost useless. I use it to make applesauce with cooked, soft, cut up apples and it can't blend them on any setting unless I put a very small amount in it... a cup or less. Even with a small amount, I constantly have to stop it, take off the lid, and stick a spoon down in it to move the apples around because it isn't moving them at all. I've had other cheap blenders in the past that worked much better than this one. Total waste of my money.
You truly get what you pay for or worse. First of all, the glass top does not lock in to fully lock leaving it a bit wobbly. I used mini ice cubes, some frozen fruit and protein powder, turned on blender and it starts buzzing. When I looked, all the liquid was seeping through the bottom of the pitcher. Figured that I probably did something wrong, I cleaned it all up and started again. This time no leaking, but within 30 seconds the smell of plastic melting permeated through the house, blender base became scorching hot, and the motor went from buzzing to a high pitched spinning noise that sounded as if the blender was ready for take off or worst case scenario, ready to burst into flames. Pulled out plug, it took 30 minutes to fully cool down, and it’s getting returned. If this happened to mine, there are thousands out there from the same lot that have this serious defect as well so be aware of this. Disappointed that this happened but will not repurchase this model again. Oster is a great brand, I still have one my aunt gave me in 1976 and works like a charm but not good for chopping ice. Nothing is made like back then, and unfortunately if you want quality these days you have to be prepared to pay much more.
This blender has no power! All I have tried to do is make hummus with canned chickpeas and mix brownies batter. It can't even do that. I have been cooking for 60 years, but I have never come across a blender this poor.
terrible product.the last 2 settings were pulse whhich caused the bottom to vibrate off.big mess.however upside the gasket fit my old oster which h ad been leaking.turns out thats all my old duralast needed.in the process found a place that sold 5 gaskets on the web site for only about 5 dollars.so bad mixer but good ending.still believe in oster but get thr right one and buy some extra washers just in case you spring a leak and not waste money on a new mixer if all you need is a new washer
