Works great
I received this item for no cost in exchange for my review of it. I am very pleased with the Oster electric carving knife. The first thing I noticed was the sturdy case that was included. The handle is easy to grip and is well balanced. The blades are easy to attach and remove and easy to clean. Finally, a fork is included which makes it easy to carve with. I would recommend this item for its usefulness and quality.
This knife works well on both raw and cooked meat as expected. It is easy to hold and is well balanced. I was surprised that it does an excellent job of cutting and slicing bread and baked goods. I wanted crostini, so I used this knife to slice a roll thinly--about 1/16th inch thick. It worked great!! It didn't turn the roll into bread crumbs or into a dough ball. They baked up crisp, and for the cost of one roll I had an entire bowl of crostini. Love saving money. I received this product as a sample to review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Oster Electric Knife with Carving Fork is an excellent addition to any kitchen. I have used it to cut chicken, roasts, and various other cuts of meat. When the product arrived, I was immediately impressed with the durability and presentation of the hard shell case. The blades inserted easily into the handle of the knife. While this knife my not be the top of the line, it is a worthy tool for the kitchen. It cut better than expected and did an all around great job on my cuts. The handle is ergonomically friendly and fits well in my hand and others in my house. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for something like this in their kitchen. Disclaimer: I received this product as a sample to review. However, my review was not biased by this fact. I have reviewed many items I have received as samples from various companies and many have not received a favorable review
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this knife as a gift a couple of weeks ago. All of the small appliances in my kitchen are KitchenAid, black and stainless steel. This knife and case coordinate surprisingly well with my other appliances. My first time using the knife, I attempted to carve a roasted chicken that had been refrigerated overnight. While the knife technically cut through the chicken, the process was not easy and the results were not visually appealing. For my second attempt at using the knife, I carved a chicken while it was still warm. Success! I can see how this tool would be useful for anyone who roasts whole chickens or large cuts of meat on a regular basis – it is a major time saver. For me, the absolute best part of owning this knife is peeling and slicing pineapple. My original process involved wielding a big knife, with an increasingly wet handle, and fighting to slice through the prickly skin. Now I plug in this knife, slice through the skin like butter, and have a bowl of cubed fruit in no time. I can’t wait to try this on watermelon – this must be the secret to Pinterest-worthy fruit.
Just what I was looking for an electric knife that stores easily, works well. I had an old electric knife years ago and im glad i recieved another one. I decided I really wanted to try an electric knife again for things like slicing bread, carving turkey, slicing ham, etc. but I wanted something that would not take up a lot of storage space and would have the "umph" to do the job easily. I have been very pleased with this Oster model very handy, easy to operate and relatively durable. Biggest thing to remember with any electric knife is avoid hitting the bones when carving and it should last for years.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This knife preformed as intended for a varied different meats... I smoke BBQ and Brisket regularly as well as have a mean tenderloin recipe... Over all i would say this knife held up to the functionality and preformed well. from a longevity stand point i haven't been able to test it as I have only had it a few weeks... The case it came in though is cheaply made and would be nice if it was more sturdy and could be thrown in a dishwasher....The knife i would say is good and will stand up well to Average use, however if you are a professional chef ect... It may not stand the test of time... ( I received this knife as a sample to review)
The knife was difficult to use at first as I could not keep the dual blades together when the knife was in use. After trying the product out for two weeks, it did become easier to use without th blades coming loose. As for the performance itself, it cut basic items such as chicken and fruits and veggies but took a lot of pressure being applied to the knife in order to do so. Th overall look of the knife was appealing and I appreciated having a carving fork included as well as a storage case. Overall, I'd give the product 3 stars because of the difficulty with the blades coming apart when in use. As a disclaimer, I received the Oster electric knife with carving fork as a sample to review
This thing would not slice hot butter; My right arm is in a sling from surgery, it would not slice a prime rib no bone!
Can't slice turkey or ham with it
