Oster Turbo Blender, 800-Watt Food Blender, White

I love this blender. Have always loved the brand and I was thrilled to get a new one that has 800 W. Excellent blender.

48 years ago, I was given an Osterizer Galaxie blender as a wedding present. It has worked great all these years and it still works great, but I decided it was time to upgrade. I bought an Oster Turbo Blender. I am very glad I did. Along with being one of the few blenders available on the market with metal gears instead of plastic, it is very affordable and makes a great smoothie, even better than I expected. It is a bit noisier than my old one, but I will very likely use it every day!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this blender, personally it is a brand that I have always bought. I have blended dried chili peppers by adding a little water and it has left them perfectly ground. I particularly like this one because it is small and does not need much space in the kitchen.

overall ok. I have been an Oster user all my life. Only thing is that I expected the standard coupling attachment so I could use jars that I have from other Posters. This recently obtained has a different attachment for the motor, making incompatible my old good jars.

Did not like the blender container. Plastic, would rather have glass..maintains aroma of spice after washing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine itself is like a hard plastic vs a glass container (that's probably where the lost cost comes into play) still a pretty durable machine regardless of that. You can put ice fruits veg etc but just be cautious not to pack it full since it's plastic not glass and the container is also smaller than the glass counterpart. Do your liquid first and then the fruit veg and then ice on top (says on the box) There's 3 different options: blend/clean/milkshake Purée/icy drink/ smoothie Choo/salsa/ ice crush The machine isn't too loud Just as easy to clean as the glass/bigger versions

Don't be fooled!! This jar is NOT GLASS. It is PLASTIC!!! Even though it says it is glass-that's a LIE.

Inaccurate description for jar material. It is not made of glass. It's plastic.

I give you only one star because you are apparently unable to tell directly of which material the jar is made. I can only conclude (!) that it is not made of glass. But is this so difficult to tell? I have already got trapped by such incomprehensible lack of basic information while buying very expensive kitchenware and I am really frustrated. You can do better than that if your aim is not to trap potential customers.
