They work well being part silicone. I used to feel the heat through my old set but not once with these mitts.

New is better
I'm replacing old red potholders with fresh pink ones. The new ones are different in construction and material, more silicone and no terry cloth. The first thing I noticed is that you have to grip harder to keep hold of the cookie sheets and pans. I did not use oven mitts before, but these are good. Again, remember to hold on tight. The mitts are long enough to provide protection from oven shelves and hot doors, and I like that.

Too bulky
The concept and material is fine for these potholders. My problem is the hand gloves are so bulky they are hard to use. I prefer oven mitts to be better fit so when i grab my item from the oven I can grip it firmly
