Excellent coop which required very few additions after putting together. The assembly is remarkably easy provided you have 2 people, especially since it is noticeably sturdy. Would 100% recommend if you intend on keeping a larger flock.
My sons in law put it up on about 2hrs. Solid and roomy! Love it.
the assembly process was really easy. Materials are heavy duty and quality. Everyone I showed it to was really impressed. I found one of girls wandering and looked like she wanted to find a place to lay so I picked her up and plopped her in the new coop for the first time and she jumped right on in the nest box and was chirping with glee!
I bought the jumbo coop recently that I had been eyeing for a few months and am happy with the purchase. It took less than 4 hours from opening the crates to completion with the help of my brother in law. Both of us have experience with tools but are not professionals with them. Easy to follow instructions and well engineered parts make this a breeze to build. I recommend this brand for anyone looking to save money and hours of work building one from scratch ( which I have done a few times already).
This was a great purchase for us. We don't have the time to build a coop from scratch, so this was a great solution. All the pieces were clearly marked and accounted for and the assembly took about 4 hours for two of us (8 labor hours). I do wish the coop was taller and the nesting boxes a little bigger. I'm only 5'5" and have to bend over inside the coop, which might make regular cleaning a little challenging. The nexting boxes are 10"x14", which is tight for a regular sized hen. Other, than those two things, we are overall very pleased with the product and would recommend it for anyone who doesn't have the time or skill set to build their own.
Being new to chickens I thought this would be a nice investment. I will say that it is well made and easy to assemble. After owning chickens for 7 months now I will say that I've learned a lot and one of the biggest things I've learned is that if you're going to spend this sort of money on a coop, you want something big enough that you can walk in without being hunched over. Believe me when I say that being able to walk around inside your coop without having to arch your back makes it a whole lot easier to clean the coop (among other things). Again, the coop is well made and of very good quality. It's the size that you'll grow to hate. It sucks having to spend an hour deep cleaning this thing bent over like a hunch back. You'll pay for it the rest of the day when your back is in pain. Anyways, these guys make some decent stuff, but there are far better options at this price. Take my advice and either build or buy a man-size shed and turn it into a chicken coop. Chickens don't need anything fancy. They just need a shelter and nesting boxes. Again though, make sure you get a coop where you can maneuver in and out of without having to always be hunched over.
The coop is made of solid materials and should last a long time. The instruction were lacking detail and a number of the pre-made panels didn't line up properly. The roosting bars were twisted and warped wood so they did not fit the coop and had to be re-made. Several of the roof panels had to be forced into place using pressure clamps as the wood had either expanded in shipment or they were not cut properly in original build at the manufacturer. The electric kit and auto door kit are solidly made but the cord lengths are not well suited for the Jumbo Coop. Once installed the only way to change the auto door time is to go into the coop which is tight for an average sized adult. Again the materials and overall construction is good and the coop should last years if properly maintained. Quality materials but assembly is more involved than the video shows and be prepared to have to work through fitting issues on the various panels.
The 30 chicken/ 5' X 12' coop is a good basic coop. I thought it would be sturdier. It was easy to assemble by 3 people. Once assembled, it is top-heavy and should be anchored to prevent it from tipping over: like mine did. I fortified the roost with 2 X 4's because they wobbled when the chickens entered or exited the roost and I installed a waterproof floor covering. I made other additions (electricity, insulation in the walls, and wire mesh to the studs inside) to suite my needs.
Cute but definitely needs a pull out litter tray. I think it should have wider ramp of 8". Larger vent holes, lighter nesting box lid
