My wife, who's the more practical and sensible of the two of us, was out of town for the week on a work trip. I did not appreciate the enormity of the bag of hay until I opened the shipping box and pulled out this massive bag of timothy hay. "Oops," I said. "Well, Reese, I guess I just bought you your hay for the decade." Being a rabbit, she of course did not reply, preferring instead to continue eating from her current supply of hay. However, hay keeps for awhile provided you avoid moisture. That was easy enough, since this is an indoor only situation around here. Oxbow sells quality hay. The entire bag, regardless of what size you buy, is full of the good stuff. In this case, the western timothy hay includes flowers (which is sold separately by some companies as a special treat for your small pet) and there is not dust or other junk in the bottom of the bag. (There might be a tiny bit, but not enough to be noticeable.) As predicted, this giant bag of hay kept and Reese enjoyed the entire amount. It took her five, maybe six, weeks to get through this bag. For reference, Reese is a four-pound Holland lop. She's a healthy weight per the vet, and always has hay in her manger. Your small pet's mileage will vary, but that should help you guesstimate if you're trying to figure how long you'll need to find storage room for this huge bag.

Good hay for my guinea pigs. i tried the other brand and they did not like it. but they get excited for this. they especially like the little fuzzy part at the top of the hay, which this brand has a fair amount of.

This Timothy hay is really the best for small animals. I buy it for our guiena pigs. It never has any dust in it

There was a mouse carcass in this and I had to throw the entire bag away!
