Very impressed with the quality %26 construction. spinner basket is made of sturdy plastic %26 does not collapse when lifted out. I like the top spinner button as well, much easier than a crank handle for me to operate. I like that the top lid comes apart to thoroughly clean inside. Worth the cost, would highly recommend.
I use my OXO salad spinner almost everyday. OXO quality is the best. I bought one for my neighbor, she did not have one. Every one needs this in greens and berry harvest time. We clean and spin a lot of salad fixings and fruit.
This thing is awesome, it's spins forever.
I love the OXO salad spinner. I removes all water and so easy to use. Very well made.
I regret buying the OXO Good Grips Large Salad Spinner – and I'm urging others to avoid this model until it's re-engineered for true hygiene safety. 🚨 Critical Flaw: The Pump Mechanism Cannot Be Cleaned Inside While the spinner looks sleek and feels solid, it hides a serious health hazard: 🔒 The internal pump unit is completely sealed and inaccessible to the average user — yet it draws in moisture, vegetable debris, and micro-particles during every use. Once residue gets inside: It cannot be fully cleaned or dried Moisture stays trapped Over time, this leads to bacterial buildup, mold, and contamination risk I rinsed mine under high pressure. I tried soap, vinegar, even warm water soak — nothing reaches the internal channels of the spinning knob or pump shaft. ❗ Why This Is a Major Problem: If you're using this to spin leafy greens (which often carry soil, sediment, or organic residue), you're literally locking bacteria inside the unit every time you wash. It's invisible — and it builds up over time. This violates the HOE (Health Over Everything) standard. For any tool that handles food — especially raw, unpeeled greens — full cleanability is non-negotiable. 🛑 What Needs to Happen: OXO should: Redesign the lid with a fully removable pump Include access panels or tool-free disassembly options Publicly acknowledge the flaw and offer replacements once fixed ✅ Until Then: I've switched to a German-engineered spinner that fully disassembles and is made with food-safe, easy-clean components. It costs more — but it's worth protecting your health and your family. OXO — please do better. This isn't a minor oversight. It's a long-term bacterial exposure risk hiding in plain sight.
