The engine light on my 2006 Honda Civic came on couple weeks ago, and the result from a diagnostic test gave a code of p0420, which from online searches indicated it's a problem with the downstream O2 Sensor (note: the Civic has 2 oxygen sensors: upstream and downstream). There were couple companies that made this sensor for my Civic. When I looked at my upstream sensor, which is just plugged on the top of the engine, I found out it's from DENSO. I assumed the downstream one is too. I searched for the part online; Walmart has it and the price was couple dollars less than Amazon. I ordered it on a Tuesday night and got it on Thursday. My friend, who has a socket used specially for oxygen sensor, helped me replace it and cleared the engine light in less than 30 minutes. When I was debating whether to get the Bosch sensor earlier, I saw it has a total length of 22 inches, this DENSO sensor is the exact length (10 inches) as the original. I had the sensor installed for a week now and the engine light indicator only flashed on when I start the engine as it should. I expect my Civic fuel economy to recover too; a symptom of a bad oxygen sensor.
