It’s not quite mosquito season yet, but I wanted to be ahead of the curve and bought this in advance. I am so glad I did! The design is sleek and fits perfectly with my outdoor setup, and the light is exactly what I was looking for. Even though the bugs aren't out in full force yet, I can already tell this is going to be a game-changer. It’s high-quality and looks great—definitely a must-have before the summer hits!
very handy and compact
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am totally sold on this OZARK TRAIL RECHARGEABLE BUG ZAPPER WITH LANTERN. First of all sitting outside in the evening I don't have mosquitos and nats annoying me, that's a huge part and the other part I really like is it's rechargeable! This bug zapper is just perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the warmer/hotter days of spring and summer, those annoying bugs and pests are coming out to ruin any parties! This bug zapper really attracted those pests and took care of them quick! The design is nice and it is safe towards pets and people. Great compact size!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It performs well at keeping the bugs away and zapping them as they come toward the light. It's portable and has a rechargeable battery. It has a quiet operation and safe to use.
I recently replaced the ceiling fan on my lanai here in Florida, right as mosquito season kicked back in. I picked up the Ozark Trail Grey Rechargeable Bug Zapper and used it while I was installing the new fan. The built‑in LED surprised me with how bright it is and how much area it lit up. The hanging hook was genuinely useful... I was able to hook it onto my ladder, which gave me hands‑free light while I worked. Once dusk hit and the bugs started coming out, I switched on the bug zapper mode. I was still noticing some mosquitoes on me, but I could clearly see other bugs getting pulled toward the purple light and getting zapped on the grid. From my early use, I’d say it works best as an extra layer of protection rather than your only line of defense. In a Florida mosquito situation, you’ll probably still want repellent, long sleeves, or other protection, but any added reduction in bugs is a plus. I really like that it’s lightweight and USB‑rechargeable, so it’s easy to move around and top off from a power bank or wall adapter. That makes it convenient for things like working outside, hanging on a porch, or taking on a camping trip. For camping or an overnight trip, I’d plan around the battery life. Based on similar Ozark Trail rechargeable zappers and user reports, you can expect roughly a full evening of use on a charge if you are just using the light, and less run time if you have both the light and zapper running together. In my opinion, if I were using this in the wilderness, I’d want an external battery pack so I could keep it topped up and not worry about it dying in the middle of the night. Overall, I see this as a very convenient, compact bug‑zapper lantern that shines as a bright work/camp light with some added bug control, rather than a heavy‑duty mosquito solution by itself.
Works straight out of the box. Hook it up and fully charge it in advance. I love it !

Also just used it when replacing my reverse osmosis filters under my sink (its an all day thing with removing filters and running a cycle with bleach, emptying tanks again, replacing filters… having this bright light under the sink was helpful. Overall, I see this as a very convenient, compact bug-zapper lantern that shines as bright work/camp light with some added bug control, rather than a heavy-duty mosquito solution by itself.
In a tent this will work fine, the lights have a time out, with just the UV zapper running on max it last at least 20 hours. it works 2x as good when it's plugged up whether to a seperate battery pack, solar panel, or wall. but overall, a little weak.
Light was flexible and bright, but bug zapper was difficult to turn on. the whole thing would not hold a charge. Left plugged in multiple times to fully charge and it never lasted more than 2 hours. Was looking for something longer lasting. No bugs were zapped because zapper would not stay on more than a minute or two and then go back off. Will be returning this item. It was not useful for me.
