Needed shoes for traveling to east coast on a short notice for this winter. Walking on snow was not a problem with this pair at all. Finished the trip without any issues. Love the fit and comfort.
Shoes fit perfectly. Also fittingly enough, they were delivered while i was at work and it was raining hard when i got home and the box it was shipped in was soaked through as well was the shoe box, yet the shoes themselves were completely dry. So yeah, they are waterproof.
Hubby decided a few days before a hike that he wanted new shoes. But he was being lazy and didn't want to go anywhere with me to look for any. These were inexpensive and nearby. I got them in his regular size. He's EXTREMELY picky when it comes to shoes and clothes being bought without him trying them on first but he loves these. He said they're very comfortable. The first day he wore them we went on a 4 mile hike through rough and muddy terrain and his feet stayed dry and comfy the whole time. Definitely recommend.
My husband loves these shoes. This is his 2nd pair. They lasted him over 2 years, and he is hard on shoes as we have a tree farm. They are so well built and the cushioning inside the shoe is amazing. My husband always says they are so comfortable for working. I know they are a hiking shoe, but you can use them for anything you do in life......my husband is hard to please and if he likes them that much, they are amasing.
These are great heavy duty hiking shoes, I've had them for almost a whole month and I wore them Every single day because I wanted to get a feel for these shoes and make sure that they exceeded my Expectations which they did! The shoes excelled on mud, medium show, light rain and wet pavement and wet grass. The shoes tolerated everything I put them through, I even used them as my main shoes for my wood working job using a router table and the shoes didn't get too dirty, it was easy for me to kick off the wood dust off them. After using them every day as my daily shoes, I honestly wouldn't recommend them for daily Use as they are heavy and can hurt your ankle joints quickly, however I'm positive people will use these for their Intended use and not use them as a daily wear like I did lol! Anyways, if you are looking for Really good heavy duty hiking shoes that has excellent grip on wet pavement, thick mud, wet grass and leaves a ND snow where other shoes can cause you to slip then look no further because you found them!
Shoes felt fairly well made and rugged right out of the box. The fit was true to size and offered a decent amount of support. I didn't actually wear them hiking, but did wear them around my rural 5 acre lot while doing some brush work. The shoes have a good sole and were pretty comfortable early on. For the price of these shoes, I think they are a great deal.
I work for FedEx and wanted a waterproof shoe that I could wear all day. for the most part thats what I got.they are waterproof from or atleast enough that I haven noticed my feet being wet. the sole is pretty comfy could be a little better but great for the price. my only complaint is. you have to be careful tieing them tight, if you dont get it just right that they dig into your foot some that becomes uncomfortable after 30 min or so. hopefully they need to be broken in a little more or it will be less noticable with thicker socks. (have been wearing no show socks) over all im happy with them and should be able to break them in a little better woth some more time.
[Copy of my original review of the taupe color of these hikers.] These shoes are a good value and nice quality for the money, still, even though I've been buying them since they were $25. That is, whenever I could find them! I'm a very common size 8, and the Walmarts I'd shop often were out of my size. Now, unfortunately, the Walmarts I've shopped of late seem to not carry these (or most other hikers) at all in-store. At least I now can get them online—though, again, only when they're in-stock in my size! These shoes are comfortable enough that I basically live in these shoes most every day, whether walking the dogs, running, working, running errands, even going to church. At the end of the day, my feet seldom are sore and tired. I've worn many popular brand athletic shoes through the years—that decades ago cost much more than these—that were nowhere near as comfortable! “Lightweight,” for these shoes, means about 2 pounds for the pair. None of the lightweight foam soles on these guys! The tread is actual rubber that will last. I mean, as in they smelled lightly of “car tire” (in a good way) when I first opened the shoeboxes when they arrived. I rated these 4-stars, as I've experienced some defective pairs getting through production and into Walmart stores in the past. (I have not found these issues in the 3 pairs (2 taupe and 1 black) I purchased recently—1 pair in-store and the other 2 online. Things to check before wearing: (1) lace up the shoes tightly to make sure the fabric lace loops are securely stitched into the leather uppers, and (2) feel up into the toe box INSIDE the shoes to make sure no excess adhesive impairs the toe area. If these are fine, these shoes should prove surprisingly rugged and long-lasting for a Walmart-brand shoe!
