For a budget fishing pole, this works great for bass and pan fish. It comes prespooled with 8lb test line, great to have as a travel pole. Definitely recommend this for a budget friendly option. Spent the day bass fishing with this and it held up well. This is my go-to pole to keep in my car now.
You can't beat this for a kid or teen pole or light fishing around the pond bank. I have a pond out back I've stocked with all sorts of fish, but the bigger are catfish ranging from 1/2lb to 6-7lbs. While it's not easy to reel them in with this it makes it fun and interesting. You get the entire fighting experience using it. I've caught prolly a dozen so far and it's held up just fine. I kept same line on it. Just make sure you use a polymer or some other good knot for your hook and you're in business. The drag function is almost non existent, but for 12 bucks, I think that's what I paid for it you can beat it.
We had purchased a different rod from another retailer and the reel broke the first time out. This one was recommended to me and was lots cheaper than what I had previously bought. My son loves it (hopefully he catches something big soon).
My son and Grand daughter loves them. Would purchase product again. Quick delivery on time and no problem with packaging
Very nice fishing pole, especially for the value. Traditional, fiberglass rod and bait caster style flip bail reel make this a nice and easy combo to use. It's not fancy by any means but it's a great starter bowl that won't hurt your feelings if the kids drop it off the pier. Perfect starter pole for a young person.
Pretty sure I went through 50 feet of line just trying to set it up. I believed a cheaper option would be easier for a kid. I was wrong. You get what you pay for. Could never get it to cast more than 10 feet. I had to watch a youtube video to figure out how to set it up properly
Just know that the reel quality will not be close to proper equipment. That can throw you off if it's your first rod.
The drag on this reel is almost impossible to set. It's either too tight or too loose and when you finally get it near to what it should be a few casts later it is so loose you can't set the hook on a bream. Also after a few dozen casts the lower part of the reel is loose and yu have to remove the spool and tighten the brass nut holding i t together. In 3 fishing trips for bream more time was spent working on the reel than fishing

Pole is not good quality at all, don't waste your money, constantly unreals and the reverse real option does not work either, when casting the line gets tangled constantly even with weight, not worth it
